227 Tasting Notes
Loose tea smells nice. Very teaish :) And rumish.
Nice dark brownish color and a still very black teaish smell. Bit of rum and gentle vanilla too.
Tastes very ummm plain black plus some scents to it. Isn’t very full and smooth. Wouldn’t say bad. It’s really drinkable if you want a non sweet dark tea. But it has no wow effect. Nothing really special about it. Kinda like buying plain black/indian teabag tea in the grocery shop.
I’ll rate it just as average…
Preparation
The leaves smell very intense, both fruit and honey smell. Tea smells similar which is actually really nice. Nice brown honey color.
Its sweetish with a strong honey taste. Not bad for a fruity thing. Pear is mixed quite well with honey.
For me this is pretty good…
Preparation
Have been making banana/melon/yogurt/milk shakes with it all summer. Drank it like that or frozen and more like icecream. Absolutely love the shakes – and peeps around me loved them too.
Matcha itself without milk i can’t drink. Bitter. Idk if that’s normal with matcha tea or it’s just this one that’s like that? Even a sip of milk changes it completely to delicious.
I’ve had matchas (or more specifically certain matcha:water ratios) that have been just a touch bitter, but sour? That’s just sad and icky! :(
OK well I feel better now. There should be a bit of bitterness- you don’t want it overly sweet after all. How much matcha to water did you use?
um half a teaspoon of matcha and very little hot water. like 1/2dl even less… then use the froth thingie ;)
After a summer of matcha shakes I’m back to hot tea drinking :) Maybe, hopefully, i got a bunch of tea waiting for me…
This bit of the Rare Tea Oolong sampler was left since June.
And yumm. Good choice for a new start. It has a really pleasant, good and soothing taste.
Preparation
I ordered more :D Hooked I am on Matcha NaNa Milk shake at the moment – and i spoiled some friends with it too. What i do is pretty much:
3 banana’s
1,5 tsp matcha
few oz’s of milk
little bit of lemon juice
ice (almost as much as milk)
and a little bit of sugar (not necessarily)
I usually stir everything else first in the shaker, then add and stir the matcha powder in the end.
Yummmmmmm ;)
Interesting tea, bought 100g of this tea on the train station in Basel Switzerland. So they have the website in 3 languages – german, english and french. And the name of this tea is so different in every language that its almost funny. French version is Caravane Russe, german is Russisches Roulet. I just find that a bit peculiar :D
Was looking for some real black tea for my stay in Switzerland. And i preferred a new kind. It smelled quite rich comparing to English breakfast for example.
Lets see…
Tea smells like leaves, bit smokey I guess.
Oh now i remembered that i’ve sweetened it. Not a very good way to review a tea :D It was just meant for latte thats why. But its yummy like this.
The real review another day :D
First of 31 :D
It’s my work tea for the day.
I intended to steep it for 3 minutes then forgot a bit – so it was probably like 5 minutes or so.
Color is well black tea typical – more brown than red. It’s bit bitter for me. Quite strong. I even taste a little earthiness that reminds me of pu-ehr’s.
Think it would be great with milk. Gonna try it in a bit.
Oh it got better colder. Nice flavor.
Note – yummy with milk.
Quite good this one is. Yeeeesssss :D
Preparation
Well when i got my DoMatcha reward tin and realized i loooove matcha latte i got scared i’d run out of it too fast. And matcha cant be bought in my country. Sad i know. Ordering little DoMatcha tins was kinda too pricey so i went to look for some more affordable decent replacement. And I found it. This was 20$ for 100g of matcha plus a gift sampler of some green tea (title is in japanese – having issues figuring out what it could be).
I made a latte and it’s almost as good as DoMatcha. Maybe it’s just slightly less delicate and smooth. But really barely. For me it’s almost as good. And that means yummm.
So see, ebay can be good too ;)
I also got the tea delivered in just 2 weeks from Japan – and shipping was free.
Here’s the link of the ebay store in case you dare to try ;)
