I really like Bulk Barn’s teas, I’ve had a few really pleasant surprises from there and so when they came out with a new selection, I was really excited and purchased a couple.

Peach Ginger Black Tea sounded like the perfect tea for me. I love sweet black teas that are a little spicy, but not necessarily chais.

And I find it a little disappointing. I really like the body of the tea and it smells great, but the peach flavour just gives it a funny aftertaste. It feels artificial and almost like a cordial aftertaste, so that just ruins the whole tea for me.

I still find it drinkable, but it’s a disappointing one for sure and I won’t be purchasing it again.

This is one of my favourite ginger teas. Depending on how much rosella you have in your strainer, it leaves the cup absolutely bright pink.

I love this tea because it has more depth than a regular ginger tea. I usually drink ginger teas if I have an upset stomach, and a lot of bagged ginger teas can taste pretty medicinal or flat.

This tea has lots of depth due to the citrus-y lemongrass and the rosella makes it really tangy.

I’ll have to buy some from Australia when I’m there next. c:

This tea is great for an afternoon type tea, if you like black teas in the afternoon. Somehow, it doesn’t feel super caffeinated or feel heavy on the tannin or acidity so it feels more mellow than most black teas, which I think is true of oolong.

This has a lovely mango / coconut flavour combination and tastes as good as it smells while brewing. I tend to put this at the back of the cupboard, but I should bring it to the front more.

I’m rating this so highly because it was a pure surprise for me. I’m not usually a fan of green tea but I love lavender and this tea tastes so good.

The lavender comes through really strongly and balances well with the softer, more mellow green tea. It’s really layered and totally a hidden gem. This is a lovely floral tea and a total staple in my cupboard. It’s one of my favourite green teas.

As far as medicinal teas go, this one is really drinkable. I tend to have it if I have a sore throat or a cold and really enjoy it, even if I’m unwell, which can change your palette.

There’s lots of minty, eucalyptus, citrus-y type flavours, and while the juniper berries don’t do much other than smell nice, they do give the tea an aniseed undertone that’s very nice.

I like how fragrant this tea is and how it’s hard to over-steep. Lovely on a cold day when you’re feeling a bit run down.

I love this tea, like I do with most of the tea from Mariage Freres. It steeps really well and has a beautiful, simple, bold taste with plenty of undertones of caramel, chocolate and vanilla.

I’m not normally a fan of chocolate in tea but in this case, the tea is so smooth that it doesn’t get bitterness that sometimes comes with chocolate in tea.

I think the Highland Toffee Tea from David’s Tea would act as a really good dupe for this tea, and since Highland Toffee Tea is one of my favourites, it’s easy to see why I love this one.

This tea is powerful and spicy, like a chai or a glögg tea.

It has flavours of mulled wine, cinnamon, cardamom, almond and other Christmassy things. I love drinking it in the winter time and although it wasn’t my favourite tea from this company to begin with, it’s totally become a fast favourite.

Whenever I open my tea cupboard, I can smell it right away. It’s spicy and sweet and definitely packs a punch. <3

This tea has lots of lovely layers, as most Mariage Freres tea does. It starts off really fruity with hints of raspberry and strawberry, with a touch of sourness, and then it has this really nice caramel finish.

I would be careful how you brew this tea — I don’t like particularly strong tea and find it easy to over brew, but it’s easy enough to rescue with more water and honey.

I really enjoy this tea and would totally recommend it.

There was just way too much going on with this tea, I didn’t like it. One minute it was sweet, the next it was minty, then it was citrus. I poured it out. Blegh.

I really like this tea, although it’s not my favourite from this company.

It is very, very sweet and has a really nice overall taste and palette. It tastes fruity and really reminds me of powdered sugar. It’s not my favourite, as I said, but I still love it because all their teas are really well-made and so this tea doesn’t easily over-brew or over-steep and doesn’t have a super strong taste.
