59 Tasting Notes
This is the brewed green tea that my local coffee shop serves. Not sure if they make the bagged version or the loose, but it has a really smooth taste. It always strikes me as a green you could like even if you don’t like green tea.
The flavor is heavy on the lemongrass which I like but might be too much for some.
I’ve been going there for four years now and always get a lemon wedge. But today they threw in a lime wedge. I shrugged. Heck, I love the lime. Why not squeeze it? Regret! So be warned extra citrus lovers…
Usually I have this in the morning and I love it. It’s not overly sweet and I haven’t really understood why so many people describe it that way.
But this morning I could barely finish my little cup. Perhaps the maple chunks are heavy and now that I’m getting more than half way through the canister I’m steeping more into my tea. D’oh, gravity!
Received this from Mel. I was really excited about this being Chocolate and Puerh. Then I read the description on the tea bag pouch that read, “velvety and vanilla.” So I got a bit worried. What happened to chocolate? Then I read the ingredients on the back of the tea bag pouch with more ingredients like nutmeg and cinnamon. Now it’s a chai? Darn.
I thought this was ok. Not being a fan of chai I could still drink it. The flavors seemed to mellow as I drank it even. But I thought the chocolate was the most distant flavor of the bunch. Not at all what I expected. But ok.
Steeped three parts rooibos key lime with one part utopian jewel oolong. I liked this blend. Really smooth and all the tropical flavors compliment each other. I like the key lime on its own but the oolong seems to lack something so I’ll probably use it up faster this way.
Preparation
Decent cup of tea. Everything I’ve tried from this company seems like it was created in a lab to get the best possible balance of flavors that the broadest range of people will appreciate. Not necessarily a bad thing, but none of the ones I’ve tried really stand out as something I’d want to have all the time.
