Wake up call! Arggggggggggh.
Being groggy isn’t really the time for anything fancy, so EB shows up.
Not bad for the morning. It’s strong, so it wakes you up a bit.
Nothing special though, just good old black, but that might be because I didn’t add milk and sugar, which goes good with this. Or maybe it’s because I’m not drinking it with traditional breakfast food, since I’m really starving.

Felt like something fruity.

Anyways, this is a pretty nice flavored tea. The peach isn’t overwhelming, but smooth, aromatic. The tea isn’t astringent, which is what I’ve come to expect of blacks, so a great plus and surprise here.
It’s like drinking peach juice (is there even such a thing?), but without all the sugar.

I think I’ve only got about a cup’s amount left, so the dregs are going into to a jar so I can try this one cold brewed. Should be good.

Impressed.

Since finals are over, I get time to actually use my gaiwan set that has sadly been neglected.

The dry tea is shaped into little balls (ditto), very cute. It’s also very relaxing to see the tea unrolling itself during the steeping.

First steep: the brew is a pale, transparent yellow and very aromatic. The jasmine is pretty prevalent, you get it from the smell, the brew, and it leaves you with a pleasant jasmine aftertaste.
It sort of cleanses the palate after you eat stuff, too.
Not astringent, not sure about the caffeine, but I always sleep better after it.

Second steep: the brew gets slightly darker, the smell is also more intense.

Okay, I got about 10 steeps out of this, but then it’s gaiwan sized, so that might not account for much. Stopping at 10 steeps not because it can’t stand another steep or two, but because I’m starting to crave some sweet stuff..

Enjoyable.

It’s been a while since I last drank this.
For some reason I decided this would make a good iced tea, so I cold brewed it.

To be honest, it isn’t bad.
The unsweetened brew gave a distinct green tea smell, and the distinct green tea taste.
It’s alright, but it’s just so bland, none of the wow you usually get from drinking hot greens.
But! I decided to add some sugar to it, about a teaspoon or so (beats me why I did that, though)
And the result? I have to say, the sugar really enhances the tea, but doesn’t overwhelm it.

I guess I’ll be having the rest of this tin iced, since it’s so good this way.

Soooooo exams are almost over and felt like I needed some chocolatey drink.
The name appealed to me today, so I guess I’ll give it a try.
First ever Teaforte tea! Came from the groupon deal of Teaforte sampler chest.
The design of their sachets are nice, and the leaf tip is cute.

The dry tea smelled strongly of cinnamon, getting a bit doubtful here…
The brew didn’t smell as strongly of cinnamon! It smelled a bit like chocolate, with a hint of spices.
Okay, so I’m getting the spices here, blended neatly together, but I’m not getting the chocolate. At all.

I’m kind of disappointed…I guess I was expecting too much chocolate?
But nevertheless, a good tasting brew, sort of Christmassy.
Tasted good with cookies ( I had a snicker doodle :)), but I’ll be saving the second sachet until some festival comes up.

The dry leaves looks really, really weird. Smelled creamy and has an almost candy like feel to them.
Steeped for 2 minutes, the brew took on a light green color.

The brew smelled milkier, and I’m getting a distinct green tea smell here.
You can definitely get the creaminess, and a fruity aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

Starting the day with chocolate tea? Yes, just yes.
This was part of my sample order from American Tea Room, and the first (!!) rooibos I ever drank.

The dry smell was terrific! A strong chocolate smell, with a bit of an earthy hint. Sweet.
Steeped for 5 minutes.
The smell after I finished brewing was even better than the dry smell. Rich but not sweet.
You can definitely taste the chocolate in this, and the rooibos isn’t overpowering, but just sort of adds to the chocolateness.

Good for starters of rooibos (like me, lol)

Sad, sad day today. Losing my keys cancelled out the joy of receiving my order from American Tea Room, so I decided I needed some sweetness to help out here.

The dry tea smelled delicious, caramel, milk and nutty. Smells promising.
Steeped for 3 minutes as suggested.

The color I must say is a pretty reddish-gold.
The brew smelled a lot lighter than the dry tea, a light sweet smell, not overwhelming.
The tea itself had hints of caramel although very light, more smell than taste (probably because I only had one piece of caramel in the tea to begin with), but not really getting the nuttiness here.
Not at all astringent.

It’s much lighter and a lot less sweeter/dessertier than I expected, but overall an okay tea. Not wowed, but good enough.

So today was a particularly dismal day, dark skies then pouring rain, and there’s that added sadness of having to write a paper. I figured I needed something to lift my moods up a bit, and after rummaging through my pantry I found this stashed into a corner, along with a tin of Earl Grey, behind the seasonings.
Since we’re out of milk (yes, how sad), I went with Lady as I only drink EG with milk.

Pretty reddish-brown coloring at the end of 3 minutes.
Smells nice, a little bit flowery.
Tastes lighter than Twinning’s EG, and with citrus flavors, very soothing.
A bit astringent, and it does get more so if you accidentally leave it in the pot for long.

I got around 5 steeps out of it, but it did start to get weak on the second steep.
