Okay, I had this one tonight and maybe it was just a bad brew cause I was nowhere near as wowed as the other reviews I’ve seen. Going to try it again before I rank it to give it a fair shake.

Sometimes I find that it happens to me too that everyone else loves a tea and yet I am unhappy with it.No matter how much fiddling for instance I will never like Pink Flamingo or Swampwater yet those are some of the the most popular teas…just goes to show how different people can be!

I tried it in store today, i wasn’t blown away.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who is meh on this one!

drank Strawberry by The Tea Haus

I took my entire 25g of this one that I had left and cold steeped it last night, making a huge pot of it for work today. And man did I need iced tea to get through the day. This one was a lovely one to have iced. Not too sweet, and a nice natural strawberry flavour that wasn’t overpowering. I may have to get this one again!

I am so sad that this tea has gone to online only status. It is one of the few teas that are a predominant tea flavour with undernotes of fruit that I actually like. Normally I like my teas to taste fake as hell (what, I’m slowly learning to like straights . . . ;) )

This one is a lovely white base which, as I said, you can actually taste. I’m still not sure about the 94 steeping temperature they recommend but it hasn’t burned my leaves yet so somehow there is magic happening to make a lovely cup. If you’re a fan of blueberries and white teas and haven’t tried this one, I recommend it. It is one of the whites from Davids that is worth the cost.

drank Organic Ponmudi by The Tea Haus

I needed a kick in the butt to get moving this morning, so I decided to dive into this one. And since I wasn’t in the mood for a straight black, I added some of the Chai Spice I have from the Tea Haus. It made for a very malty chai, even with a spoonful of sugar and milk. It was actually too dry for me, so I had to add more sugar to bring it to where I could drink it. The more I have the Ponmudi the more I decide that as lovely as it is, it isn’t my preferred black.

drank Sweet Peach by The Tea Haus

What’s a girl to do when she has two boxes full of those DelMonte real fruit popsicles left over from last summer? Apparently she uses them to sweeten her tea. Yeah, I did it and you know what, I’m not ashamed to admit it.

I cold steeped this tea overnight, and as lovely as it was black, I wanted to sweeten it a bit. So I melted two of those peach popsicles I had sticking around and then stirred them into the pot. It was actually pretty delicious. I think I may end up doing that for the last dozen or so!

drank Mango Diablo by DAVIDsTEA

I tried this one with trepidation, having decided that for me, chili and tea don’t blend in my favour. And yet I have to try everything that hits the wall, so I trotted home with my 6g and brewed it up.

Both dry and brewed, it smells absolutely amazing. The mango smell is dominant and is strong enough that I started to get excited. A good mango tea is delicious and this was full of potential.

As I sipped I first got a mouthful of mango, and damn but it was delicious. Fruity and sweet and perfect. And then the chili kicked in, and yup, it packed a punch. If I liked chilis in tea this would be an amazingly perfect tea for me. But sadly I want this one without the kick. If it was just the intense mango I’d be ALL over it for summer.

Rating it based on how well the tea lived up to expectations. I’d rate it lower for my personal preferences but the tea is actually delicious if that’s your thing, and I don’t feel it is fair to rate it down because I didn’t like that it met the description.

I really want to try this tea too!

Tina S.

If you like the chili idea, you’re going to love it! I am hoping that they’ll put out a non-chilied version too.

I can’t decide if this sounds good or disgusting…

I was the same way, which is why I caved and tried it. I’m glad I did, though.

About time they get some kick ass mango flavour in a tea… have to see how the chili pans out of course. :)

Hurray, today I finally got a chance to sit down and properly appreciate this tea. I’ve made it a couple times but always ended up dashing or getting distracted and I never got to give it the chance it deserved. Today though, I was able to relax and sip as I watched my current favourite actor in an absolutely horrible movie. What better time to have a great cuppa?

This tea is SO delicious. As everyone else has said it has a great full bodied flavour and holds up to multiple steeps. I’ve never gotten four steeps from a tea before but this one was still going strong! I’m only sorry that by the fourth steep I was craving something different. Thank you so much to Angel from Teavivre for the extremely amazing sample of this tea. I love it and am glad to have enough to be able to experience it again and again!

I hate that when I chose to watch a move because my favorite actor/actress is in it and it turns out to be terrible! I can see where the tea would help, though …

My only free day this week, and so it deserved a latte morning. But I didn’t want my usual tea so I decided to try this one, having read on someone else’s review that it did a really nice job.

They were right. I think I used just a tad too much milk as the tea flavour wasn’t as strong as I’d like, but this was delicious. Subtle notes of cinnamon and berry and just a really nice way to start the morning.

I tried this one again today, having not touched it for two months and completely forgetting what it tasted like. This time I brewed it at a lower temperature and let it sit longer, and there was definitely some chocolate notes to it. The tea still didn’t wow me, though, so it is off to a better home.

Wow, I don’t hate this one! I was so ready to not like it but it snuck up on me. The sea lettuce is definitely there, and it has that same asian restaurant flavour that Splash has, but the berries seem to mellow it out and the tea has a really high natural sweetness to me. I had it hot and without sugar and am glad I did, because I don’t think it needs any sweetener. Am definitely curious how this one will taste iced.

I tried this one yesterday and forgot to log it, but was surprised that I didn’t hate it, too! I didn’t know why or how I ended up buying it because it sounded really offputting to me, but it’s not bad.

Bio

An avid tea addict in the GTA, Ontario, Canada. I’m always looking for new teas and new tea addicted friends!

My preference is loose leaf of all varieties, however the occasional bagged tea can come along and charm me. Flavoured or straight, there is a good chance that I will be falling in love.

My ratings system is based on the smiley faces above the ratings scale.

0-10 — This tea didn’t get past the initial sip process. I just couldn’t bring myself to drink more, I found it so horrible.

11-50 — It made it past first sips, but as I drank a bit more I realized I really wasn’t enjoying the tea, and would never drink it again.

51-60 — I probably made it through the cup, but won’t be trying another one.

61-69 — Either it’s a mystery tea and I can’t decide if I like it or not, or it is one that I felt was purely adequate.

70-85 — These are the teas that I appreciate and/or like. If they are falling in this area they are ones that I would definitely re-buy, however are not ones that I must always have on hand. The good, but not the amazing.

86-94 — These are the favourites. My cupboard feels empty if they aren’t inside.

95-100 — Tea perfection!
