I had this tea again as soon as I came home. This time, I used slightly less water and slightly more leaf. No cream, and a few pieces of rock sugar, and it was perfect. definitely a more delicate tea, both in the base tea as well as the floral notes. This will not boll you over with intensity or anything like that. And as with CaC, there’s enough creaminess for the tea to hold its own; even creamy tea drinkers like me don’t have to worry about adding any milk or cream (well, I know only very few people add it to white tea to begin with, but I’m inclined to add it to everything haha). It definitely has a very satisfying full, thick mouth feel all on its own though.
And with that, I’m off for a shower. I can’t articulate the extent of my relief at tomorrow being Friday, and not even because of anything to do with work. I’m just looking forward to sleeping in, having quiet time to recharge, linger over long, lazy breakfasts with my fiance, and very importantly, try new tea and fall in love with long-standing favourites all over again.
Oh oh oh! and a friend of mine is going to the UK and is going to bring me back a few teas to try from Mariage freres, so I’m pretty excited about that. I don’t even know if they do sample sizes—their site isn’t the most screen-reader friendly one in town, but I just told her to get me whatever size was their smallest while still allowing for at least four or five cups (I hope that was specific enough hahaa). Now, here’s to hoping she’ll remember and that I won’t feel compelled to send her all sorts of other e-mails with the underlying purpose of reminding her! haha.

I believe the smallest size is 100g…which is a lot of tea heh. I’m not sure how long she’s there for, but you might have better luck using the site that Dinosara used and having the tea delivered to her hotel there for her to pick up for you. I can’t recall the company but they do 50g sizes that way.
Wow. F my life then. Maybe I should narrow down my five choices to like two or three then, or otherwise look for a homeless shelter.
that’s what i did when my parents went. They brought back 2 teas for me, but i’d had samples previously from swaps heh
O, let’s see. I know I want marco polo, plein lune, and maybe the (tea) de lune…but then there’s the lilly of the valley one, which they say is “coming soon” and I love me a good floral. Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
Well, hopefully, with teas like Pleine Lune (Also maybe consider Wedding Impérial because nom.) you won’t have a problem finishing off a 100g bag. Also great for swaps, I guess – maybe go halfsies with someone who wants the same ones?
Oh yeah, getting all of these teas will definitely amp my swap cred—in the event I’m not head over heels. And now i’m going to read reviews about wedding imperiale.

(It’s definitely 100g!)
Oh wow! that’s so much tea! why on earth would they give you so much?
a lot of retailers in europe work that way heh

i love that one sigh halfway through my bag…so sad
Actually…if you’re dying for Marco polo it don’t want to commit to a full 100g, I would happily trade you 50g of Marco Polo for 50g of wedding imperial, or perhaps another tea you’re picking up if our tastes overlap heh
