726 Tasting Notes
A big ol shoutout to VariaTEA for sending this my way!
I just finished off the rest tonight :)
A lovely tea, a lovely rooibos! I haven’t had rooibos in so long, and I actually brewed it the normal way to see if my taste has changed, but nooope. I still like my rooibos in the hottest water ever steeping in 15+ minutes. I steep it for as long as I can!
In other news, my roommate tripped and fell down the stairs this morning sooooo it’s a party at our place and my roommates and I are in her room watching Netflix and drinking tea :))
Got a sample of this from QueenOfTarts last summer!
She knew that I love jasmine teas, and I was just starting to enjoy dessert teas.
Who knew caramel and jasmine would work together?? The second I saw this tea, I was confused. Nice, sweet, dessert caramel, something that seems almost rustic (to me), with bright floral jasmine?? At first sniff, you get the caramel, then you just slowly inhale and you smell the brightness of the jasmine. And let me tell you, it smells impeccable!
It’s so weird! You can smell the caramel and jasmine separate from each other, even after brewing!
It’s so weird.
I’d like to say it works together, but I just get the dark dark caramel, and then an awkward bright floral aftertaste.
A lovely sample, and I was so excited when I get it in the package, so thank you QueenOfTarts, but sadly this is one jasmine tea I probably wouldn’t purchase for my own personal tea collection
One midterm down, one more to go! Well, for this week, that is.
I’ve been bringing my laptop to work the past week so during those wee 15 minute break and 30 minute lunches, I would be able to do a bit of studying. It actually helped quite a lot! I just finished the easiest midterm ever, and now I’m enjoying this tea whilst studying for my next midterm.
My timolino needs… a heavy cleaning. I just poured hot water in it, and I have my tiny box of sachets in my bag so I can drink tea easily on the go, but I smelled my hot water and it smells so much like Harney & Son’s Chocolate Peppermint tea since like the past five times I’ve used my timolino, I had that tea. But luckily it’s just a sliiiiight flavour change, so I taste the mango more, most definitely :)
I love this tea tons! So happy I have more at home. But I love the mango flavouring in it and it’s probably been sitting in my timolino for the past 10 minutes and it still tastes fab. It’s just so refreshing and lovely, and I think this would be really nice iced! it’s starting to warm up here in Southern California so I think it may be time to start cold brewing some of my teas :)
Someone had this tea on Steepster so might as well use it.
My mom bought me some cheap Jasmine tea from the Asian market so I figured I’d use this tea for all my cold brews :) Good tea, but it does get bitter quickly from when I had it a couple weeks back hot.
But now it has been deemed my cold brew tea!
Aww, this one got a tad bitter! So sad since this is a sipdown :( Maybe my second steeping would be much better!!
But this is such a lovely tea and I’m loving the fact that it tastes almost like white wine :) It’s definitely super different compared to other teas that I’ve had that are flavoured with grape.
This is just a very tea-that-tastes-like-alcohol type of day! First it was the Rosé, and now it’s the white wine!! Ahh I have a bottle of Mango Moscato in the refrigerator soooo… I’ll probably have some of that tonight! It’s not tea though but.. hey, it’s good!

Backstory:
I’m actually writing my Restaurant review right now for school and I sorta forgot about this tea :( In one of my classes, we had to sit and eat in our fine dining restaurant on campus, and because of class, I had to order a drink, appetizer, entree and dessert. Yesterday, I got the 2011 Fantinel Pinot Grigio that paired with the Rocket Salad and it was so good! I remember when I first wrote the tasting not the first time I drank this tea, I’ve never had any sort of alcohol! Because of my major, ever since I turned 21, I made sure to try all sorts of drinks to develop my palette. I’ve already developed my tea palette, but not my wines or beers palette! And because next quarter, I’m going to be the Cost Control and Beverage Manager, at the beginning of the week, I have to try all the wines we have and make sure its good to serve to the guests :)
Hmm.. I’m still not very impressed with Teavana tea. The only reason why I have so much is because of Starbucks :))
So happy for Starbucks rewards though! My friend told me that this was one of her favourite teas, but it was not the pricier side so she never gets it. I offered to get it for her for my next reward, and we can split it. I just wanted to try it! And so I’m drinking it today and it’s… okay? I taste so much artificial flavouring though. Or maybe it’s just the rose. I’m not the biggest fan of rose teas but Anna loves it!
Instead of splitting the tea, I think I’m just going to give her the full oz :)

Shidown!
Finished this tea from MissB!
I’m headed to work now and I haven’t been there in ages bc I’m back in school aaaand my hours has lessened by quite a lot. Closing tonight and figured I need a kick of matcha to keep me awake! Yeah, I’m only there till 10pm, but still! I’ve been pretty exhausted the past couple weeks and I sleep pretty early, so this closing shift is a bit of a change for me.
Got this from QueenOfTarts from our swap maaaany moons ago. Agh. I’ve been so busy ever since starting at Disney and now I’m starting to drink my teas! It’s been less than a year sooo I think I’m still good :)
It still had the lovely caramel scent to it when its dry. Has that dark liquor when steeping, but as with a lot of the flavoured tea that I I’ve had, the sent has disappeared :(
It’s good, but slightly bitter! Nothing that a touch a milk couldn’t fix :) When I resteep it, probably a cooler temperature water :)
Preparation
I think this is the tea that I drank today?
It says “Thé Noir/Black Tea” on the package.
Ahh well. I got this from the Marco Polo TTB and it’s pretty good! I love Tea at Sea tons. I’ve had some of their samples before and they seem like a really nice tea company! This was a pretty smooth black. No bitterness whatsoever when I steeped it, even when I accidentally oversteeped it ahahhah
