Hmm. I had high hopes for this one after reading others’ reviews. Upon opening the packet, I could definitely smell chocolate right off the bat, but the smell was really strong and a little off to me somehow. After brewing, the smell was more of a mix between chocolate and the toasty smell of brown rice.
The taste itself was also a mix between the chocolate and genmaicha. It almost seemed more like the flavors were competing with each other rather than complementary, though. Not sure how I feel about that. Also, the tea was a bit greasy-tasting.
Anyway, I think I will save this one for colder weather and try it again then. I may also experiment with using it as a milk tea with boba. I’m really hoping I can figure this one out!
