I finally tried this one iced. It was rushed, I only let it sit in the fridge for half an hour and had to use ice cubes… No matter, the green melon still tastes fake to me. And the watermelon, well I dunno how I feel about the way it tastes when freeze-dried.
Refreshing yes. Tasty? somewhat. I’ll happily drink the last of it but shan’t be replacing it in my cupboard!
On a side note: I got a tattoo last night!!! On my hip, so nobody will ever really see it, but it’s there :)
I can’t wait til it heals!

May we ask…a tattoo of what? :) I had to get tattoos for radiation – it hurt. And they wouldn’t even give me a butterfly…

Indigobloom

ouch. Was it just to mark the lines where it was required? maybe you can have it turned into something else down the road :)
Mine is a tree of life, covering up a scar I had which I think is apropos for this particular tat lol
I’ve named him Twiggie. Yes, I am a nerd!

Heehee! Love it! For radiation, they tattoo simple dots – I have four – in a line to get the machine in just the right spot. They run you in and out of a masking machine first while doing x-rays, then tattoo you. It wasn’t too bad until the one right ON the breastbone. OUCH! Felt like a wasp sting! I love that yours is a Tree of Life on a scar! So apropo! They won’t turn mine into anything else, because some of my lymph nodes were removed to check them for cancer, so I am supposed to be uber-protective of that arm for the rest of my life….nurses won’t even take blood pressure on it. But I use the heck out of it, and carry groceries, and dig in the garden!

ashmanra…your tatoos say that you are a survivor, and the plans for your life are yet unfinished. I would say that they are just as meaningful, if not more so, as the ones who chose what they had tatooed.

Indigobloom..Love it! I love to hear the stories behind peoples tats. I would have never gotten one myself, but I did on my 40th birthday last summer. For me it was more about knowing that I am not too old to drastically change my mind about somehting and live with it (I never even considered one for 39 years of my life.) I have the chemical formula of sucrose on my wrist right at the watch band line. My Hubby gave me the nickname of Sugar, and I am a chemist by training. Talk about a nerd tatoo……

ashmanra

SimplyJenW – I love your tat also! What a great idea! My youngest wears ThinkGeek shirts with the caffeine molecule in honor of tea, and we bought her the travel mug as well! And as for being nerdy – I told my hubby that if I were ever to get cosmetic surgery (which I have no plans to do), I would get elf ears! LOL!

QuiltGuppy

@ashmanra – I would absolutely buy that t-shirt. :) I need to check out ThinkGeek!

Loving this thread. I wanted tattoos all my life, even as a little girl. I got my first one in 2006 to mark my first book contract. That’s been my promise to myself ever since: new book contract, new ink.

Indigobloom

Ashmanra: ouch indeed! bones + tattoos = Owwww! glad you are ok now xx
SimplyJenW: omg I love that, nerd tats are the best :)
QuiltGuppy: me to!!!
Michelle Butler Hallett: same here, I’ve wanted one for years and now can’t wait for my next one! love your rewards system :P
PoliticalMachine: thanks!! I’m still reeling from the shock of actually making a decision LOL

ashika

Bio

Let’s see… I’m a tea and workout fanatic, I work in HR, and most of my friends consider me to be an egg. White on the outside, Asian on the inside :)
-from philosophy to food, I love it all
Otherwise, what you see is what you get! I can be very straightforward and yet shy.

Also, I’ve started taking tea sommelier classes and it is an absolute blast! Well, so far I’ve only finished the first out of eight courses, but I am really looking forward to the next one.

Anyhow, if your curious as to how I rate things, this is how I work…

0-25
Like eating dirt, or some other unsanitary indelicacy that mentioning in my profile here would likely get me banned.
I don’t think I’ve found cause to banish a tea to the wasteland yet though so who knows what it’d inspire ;P

25-50
You know that expression “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater”? I imagine drinking that water would be terrible enough to warrant this rating!
I’d never make my enemy drink this, but perhaps I’d throw it at them. Good thing I don’t have any enemies!

50-70
This is “tea”?? I tried finishing the cup… but my body rejected it. There may be others who enjoy this tea, but it’s beyond me!

70-80
I tried liking it, and I can almost get there! I certainly don’t hate it, but something is holding me back. Allergies? Men in white suits? who knows… certainly not me!

80-90
Lovely tea! Not my all time fave but close. I likely wouldn’t repurchase, but may decide to based on many factors: price, accessibility, whether it fills a “tea gap”, medicinal applications, and how often I crave it.
Every once in awhile I find the sweet spot that bumps these up to 90+. Those are the days I need to buy a lotto ticket!

90-95
Sweet Camellia! this is realllly good tea! Don’t talk to me until I’ve finished my cup…

95-100
Tea of the gods. I would do anything to get my hands on more of this liquid gold!
