464 Tasting Notes
I’m determined to finish this by Saturday morning! This took longer than I thought!
Sample# 9:
Color, texture, and smell of powder: lighter green, not very clumpy.Seaweed smell, but nt overwhelmingly so.
Notes: Mixed up well. No seaweed taste or chalk. No bitterness.
Sample# 10:
C olor, texture, and smell of powder: Similar to 9, slightlyclumpier. Smells stronger of. Seaweed
Notes: A littlechalky. Slightly bitter. 9 was better.
MMMMMmmmmm! This went so well with the pumpkin scone from Alice’s Tea Cup that I treated myself to this morning. I needed something STRONG to get me going! This was particularly sweet this morning and I love the dark charcoal taste on the first steep. I’m on my third steep now! :-)
It’s a white tea kind of tea! Oh and thank you, Stacy for the sample of this and White Whisper with my last order. I forgot in my white whisper note!
This does taste exactly like cantaloupe. I don’t really know what else to say! It’s quite yummy, but not something I would drink all the time.
And am I the only one who thinks actual canteloupe tastes a little like maple? It’s kind of woody and sweet at the same time. I’ve always thought that and this tea tastes just like that.
Oh man! I don’t like beer, but the hops in this lends such an amazing counterpointt the peach! It brings out the sweetness while at the same time deepening it. Sweet and bitter dance in complicated patterns around my mouth. While trying to figure out what it tastes like my mind flips back and forth between peach sour gummies and peach pie, but neither of those seem quite right. I really need to have this a few more times to fully diagram the flavor.
Oddly enough I also tasted onions on the first couplef sips, which could just be a fluke, but I foundit strange.
Terri…you remember that list you were supposed to make for me with those teas I can’t recall? Add this one to it. I’m pretty sure I have some? I think? Lol
backlog from this weekend
This is a good, high-quality tea, but it’s just not MY tea. I’m starting to see why people compare it to funnel cake, but this tea just doesn’t send me into ecstasies like it does a lot of other people. It’s nice, but it’s not my favorite.
I reread this and I think I’m sounding like when I try to explain that a some Doctors (fromDctor Who) are great, but they’re not MY Doctor. :-)
Regarding tea: My tastes also change so that one day a tea knocks my socks off, & another day I might not feel that way about it.
Regarding Dr Who: I doubt that I’ll ever love a Dr as much as I loved David Tennant, & I’ll probably have to sign up for cable this fall, even though I almost only ever watch TV at Tony’s house, because I’m getting tired of watching episodes of the Dr. on the internet. The reception tends to be iffy, & it’s just not the same.
@ terri….i just buy them on blu ray and wait a WHOLE year while other ppl watch it live lol then i can watch 5 episodes back to back if i am so inclined lol
Backlog from this weekend
I went to the Windsor Fair in Maine this weekend and they had a whole shed dedicated to maple goods. So while licking a cone of maple ice cream I picked up this tea and a couple of other things.
The base to this is dark, malty and STRONG! It’s a good thing I didn’t steep it for the recommended time on the box. 5 minutes would have made it far too bitter. At a minute though it was great. The base played really well against the maple syrup-y flavoring. This will be a nice one to have in the winter!
Thanks, Nicole Martin for this tea!
This starts off dark and vegetal, tasting very strongly of creamy green beans and earthy mushrooms. As it cools, it starts to taste fruitier and reminds me of putting apricots in red wine- still dark and earthy, but with a little bit of citric brightness peaking out.
