2025 Traveling Tea Box

Rules:
Please keep the TTB no longer than a week or two.

Please don’t include tea that’s super old.

I don’t mind thick plastic bags, but please no regular Ziploc bags.

Please label the teas and keep everything neat and tidy. Write what you add and take out in the notebook.

Please put in at least as much tea as you removed.

If you’re interested, please leave a comment including what state you live in so I can make a shipping order that has the shortest shipping time between locations. Also mention if there’s a time of year where you’ll be less available and if you’re willing to ship internationally.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I aim to ship this out around the end of February! I’m happy to add other people in later if anyone else is interested!

Shipping order:
Inkling WI
Kaylee NY
TeaLover8 FL
Kelmishka MD
Arby Canada
Skysamurai MN
Michelle WY
Amanda CA
Dustin CA
AJRimmer NM

As it approaches your turn, please communicate with the people before and after you in line to coordinate shipping.

Please post in this thread when you receive the box and when you ship it out again.

I look forward to seeing everyone’s notes! Have fun!

I’m in! I live in NY, won’t be able to go through the box in a timely manner between April 12-20 and the last two weeks of November. I’d prefer not to ship internationally.

I have some tea I can donate to the box. PM me an address to send it to?
I’d love to participate in the TTB as well. I’m in CA and prefer domestic shipping only.

Like Dustin I have some tea to donate to the box. I’ll be in TX or IL or WY, and would like to go last since I might not be able to participate if I’m traveling too much. Prefer not to ship internationally.

I’d like to participate! I got some new teas last year I haven’t even opened yet that would be good additions to the box. I also stocked up on good sealable foil bags so I’m all set. In Canada but will ship to US.

I shipped the TTB to Inkling today! It ended up being around 7 pounds and around 60 different teas! Thanks so much to Dustin and Michelle for their generous contributions!

I also wanted to mention that I use Pirate Ship to print my postage, and it costs under $13 to mail the box when you sort by cheapest option. Postage is expensive these days, so I figured I’d pass on the recommendation!

Glad to pitch in! Thanks for putting this together.

I appreciate the shipping tip! I’ve noticed shipping rates creeping up the past few years and am always looking for better prices!

Kelmishka said

Late reply, but thank you for the Pirate Ship tip! It was just over $20 to send it to Canada… way cheaper than all the other shipping options!

Skysamurai said

Totally agree! I used pirate ship for everything

Arby said

Definitely don’t use pirate ship for shipping to Canada in the future. It uses Fedex instead of Canada Post which charges outrageous fees just to receive a package. I ended up paying $110 to receive the box, almost all of which is because FedEx “declares” the box through customs and makes it very difficult to self-declare (which is way cheaper). Pirate ship works well for shipping within the USA but Fedex is a no-go (outside the US, anyway). Most Canadians are willing to pay towards shipping to help offset the cost of USPS.

Oh my gosh, Arby, I had no idea — I’m so sorry! I’m more than happy to reimburse you for some/all of that expense if have Venmo/Paypal? Feel free to PM me!

AJRimmer said

Gosh, I never ship internationally, so I had no idea! That seems so extreme, I’m sorry!!

Arby said

No you’re fine! I knew it would be expensive to ship the box (about $32 CAD) and sometimes you have to pay duties ($15ish). It’s just Fedex that really sucks. USPS and Canada Post don’t do that. I’m just glad that someone was willing to ship to me and that the box wasn’t US only. Most TTB are US only and it makes me sad :(
