I almost forgot I had samples coming to me from Teajo! Thanks for the samples, folks!

This is a very good Earl Grey. Very smooth. Creamy, almost like it has vanilla, though there is no overt vanilla taste. Really strong bergamot but not acidic or bitter. If you are not a bergamot fan, this is not going to be for you.

Ingredients say cacao, but I taste only bergamot and cream.

A really high quality Earl Grey. I’d definitely keep this in my cupboard over other Earls. Maybe it’s the Indian base – I do love Indian black teas.

I requested this as a sample, thinking it might make a nice iced tea. The base is a full-bodied Assam which holds up nicely to the fruit. I brewed it double strength, added ice and stevia, and found it to be very tasty. I’ll have to try it hot at another time, but I’m am guessing that for my taste, iced is better.

drank Tropical Mango by Teajo Teas

This is my second review on Tropical Mango. I made up 24 oz of this to take to work, drinking it warm to start with and then as it cooled off, I added some ice to enjoy it cold. As with all teas, I think a little sweetener really brings out the fruit, but it is also fine straight both as a hot and a cold tea. I decided that this is worth ordering again-it seems to have a good tea base and the flavor of the black is not overwhelmed by the mango-it is well blended. Teajo has sample sizes for sale, so I look forward to trying more of their teas. I like it that their teas are organically grown and they use all natural flavors.

what you discovered about the Tropical Mango is pretty much the same for the rest of our flavored blacks. Assam tea leaves are much more resistant to flavor, so they don’t get overpowered by it. Some people prefer the lighter bodied black teas, but if you like this one (Tropical Mango), you will certainly enjoy the rest!

Yes. For flavored teas, I think the Assam works well. For unflavored black tea, I like some of the lighter bodied black teas.

I received this as a sample thinking it might make a good iced tea and it is delicious! I steeped 2 tsp with 8 oz water at about 195 for 3 minutes. Then I added ice and a little Stevia. Perfect. No bitterness and the mango flavor did not overpower the black tea. It is full leaf and the ratio of tea to fruit in the bag is very good, unlike some brands where it is mostly fruit and little tea. I may try this hot next time, but I have a feeling I will mainly use this for a refreshing ice tea.

Thank you for taking the time to review. Our philosophy is to allow the tea to be a key part of the flavor profile. It also helps that we use Assam tea with all our flavored black teas, which is more full bodied and less likely to be overpowered by flavoring.

drank Juicy Peach by Teajo Teas

A huge Thank you to Teajo Teas for this very generous “sample”!
This is not a knock it out of the park flavored tea but I tell you what, the past several days I have not felt up to par and a lot of my favorite teas have not been settling well with me. I kept finding myself reaching for just two teas during this time. This is one of them.
Its a solid peach flavored tea that is very natural in its flavoring and has just a tiny slightly bit of a floral flavor.
The base is lovely.
This is for sure one of those teas to keep in your stash for company, for yourself, for people you want to introduce to a good tea, but not one that is terribly complex or overwhelming.
Its great iced, cold steeped, hot, straight, with sweetener, even some milk or cream could be added, its just a stand up quality tea.
Thank you Teajo Tea for introducing me to your teas!

This is my first Teajo Tea and I love trying new brands!! Eventho it smells nice…the scent isn’t overly strong. The coloring is a amber medium brown. It’s a little floral, a little fruity, and a little bitter…not a bad bitter but still a little bitter. It’s a powerful taste which makes up for the lack of scent, I guess. It’s an “ok” cuppa!

Taken without Milk and sugar this tea is just very strong and tart. It almost makes me think if the sour patch kid candies had a diabetic “replacement” (really what beats sour patch kids?) this would be it. Except there is no sweet finish cause well… you’re diabetic.

I am NOT a diabetic so I shoved 2 tsp of sugar in the pot (twice as much as I normally would dare) and shook till dissolved. Yes, I shook a tea pot. Fruit black teas bring out the anger in me cause I don’t understand why anyone would bother making these combinations. Tea is lovely. Juice might be the healthiest thing available… ever. Why would you skimp on either? Anyways, the tea is bearable with sugar.
Still slightly tart the raspberry and standing solidly against the black tea and holding its own. Likewise the black tea is sucker punching the raspberry back… but this is all happening in my mouth… which is minutely uncomfortable.

Then I added milk to subdue both sides of the epic tea vs. fruit battle and finally I find this drinkable. The flavors are still fighting in dominance … aka it’s not clear cut in the starting and finishing flavors they really just come in flavor waves until they blend into a sour tea aftertaste.

I can’t find anything “wrong” with this tea. The leaves look nice… aka TGFOP. It smells and tastes like real things. Not all artificially added and poopy.
But… I obviously dislike fruit teas… so consider that I drink at least 3 cups of this and wrote this to be positive.
For people who like fruit in their tea.

Sour Patch Kids rule. I like to eat them until your tongue starts to feel a little raw from all that sour sugar stuff they coat them in and then eat ten more.

I have a lot of problems picking out the black tea as a singular note in black-fruit blends [similar to what I think you’re describing here]. If the overall flavor’s appealing to me I’ll drink it anyway, but I can see how it would be frustrating. Part of me feels like they typically don’t use high quality leaves in them for that exact reason. However, if this was a TGFOP that’s a bit of a shame.
