The last of this is going toward a pot of iced tea. Good memories.

This is actually almost the last of an old container that I purchased in Canterbury, England over three years ago. Therefore, I am hoping that an extended steep will be able to dredge some good flavour from it.

The verdict? Not too bad.

My favourite mint tea. The mixture of peppermint and spearmint is nice, and the white tea rounds the flavour out (I find pure mint teas can be one sided and ‘hollow’, for want of a better word.) Refreshing without being overpowering, I tend to make a pot of it when I’m going to be eating spicy food.

The very last of this tea…I am sad I bought so little when I did, but it brings with it wonderful memories of trips overseas.

I was dubious at first because when I smelt the dry mix there was a strong smell of off milk laid over the fruity scent, but that vanishes completely when steeped.

This is nice. Extremely fruity and quite tart, but there’s a vanillary taste that stops the tart from becoming sour. Very drinkable. I haven’t tried sugar in it yet, I’ll try that next, and I think this will taste really good iced (I’ll update when I try that.)

“Vanillary”? :)

SoccerMom

When you actually say vanillary out loud is sounds like a cross between Vanilla and Celery.

Don’t worry I wasn’t going to try celery and vanilla. I am sure vanillary sounds better with a heavy English accent but doesn’t sound so dignigified with my little southern (Texas) drawl. :P

Mac

::giggles:: Well my English accent is North York Moors, so it’s kinda slow and a little undignified.

I really, really love this tea.

It’s light and refreshing but still has taste, it’s sweet without being cloying, the aftertaste is fruity and well flavoured with no trace of chemicals like I get from some other ‘scented’ teas. I’ve found myself reaching for it a lot.

drank CLASSIC 1907 by Ringtons

This tea reminds me of the tea i used to drink at my aunts many many years ago when I was quite young. Its exactly how it’s described by the blenders Ringtons – strong, dark and malty. I drink it without milk or sugar – as I do with all teas. One spoon full of tea to a pot is quite enough for drinking it “neat”. It has a deliciously long after taste. Hard to obtain sadly – mail order only unless you live in the North of England where they actually deliver it to your door.

Just sipping a cupful of the aforementioned Classic 1907 by Ringtons, on the recommendation of Sir Robert Heaven, above. Annoyingly I have to agree that it is indeed a splendid cup of tea. Even without the evocative childhood memories that he describes, it is still an excellent choice being full in flavour with a pleasantly lingering concomitant wallop.

I love the slightly sweet note to this tea with the full bodied smokiness, but absolutelty no astringency!
