National Haiku Day
Luscious break of day
A wild, smooth banana sip
out of caramel

Reviewed this one before and still really enjoy it. At some point maybe once this box is gone I’m planning on ordering their grape flavor to try. (:
(full disclosure I used a haiku creator)

AJRimmer

I like how day rhymes with flambe. Makes it even more satisfying to read.

Lexie Aleah

I didn’t even notice that until you pointed it out!

Ordered this because of Steepster
I was excited to try this since I only recall having tried one other banana tea in the past from A Quarter To Tea. (Still hoping She’ll reopen again at some point)
This one smells so good once steeped and tastes like a Banana Dessert. This is delicious it reminds me of these chocolate covered banana candies that I always get at the greek deli in town. It’s literally that candy but in tea form.

Tiffany :)

The flavor still is tasty when sipping even though the tea is in tea bag form? Onto the wish list this goes.. :)

Dustin

I’m right there with you on the hopes of someday placing another AQ2T order. The Grilled Spiced Banana was a favorite of mine.

Lexie Aleah

Tiffany: It’s really good!
Dustin: I never got to try that one, unfortunately. I loved her Turtle Dove tea though!

amandastory516

I miss AQ2T’s banana! Their Banoffee is one of my all time favorite teas.

Ended up loving this one from Dustin so much, I bought a box. Enjoyed it with no sweetener or cream and it was just wonderful. Really prominent banana flavor with no other flavors competing. A keeper for sure.

Advent from Dustin Day 11
Another new to me brand and blend. I’d actually never heard of Curtis, so I’m even more excited to brew this up. Also…Banana Flambe?? Sounds incredible.
The dry leaf doesn’t have much of a scent, but once the water hits it, I’m blasted with a burst of banana deliciousness.
Absolutely incredible! A mild, malty flavor in the black base. Tastes like a fresh banana drizzled in caramel. Would be delicious with a bit of cream/milk.

Flavors: Caramel, Malt

Courtney

Yum! I love banana in tea. Is there any smokiness at all?

Dustin

It’s so weird how it does that! It does not smell interesting at all until you steep it! It’s the first/only Curtis tea I’ve tried as well.

Martin Bednář

If I recall correctly, Curtis is Ukranian company. They have often interesting flavours.

amandastory516

Courtney- No smokiness at all in my opinion.
Dustin- It was such a pleasant surprise!
Martin- Ooh good to know! I’m definitely interested in trying more of their blends.

Dustin

I found this one on Amazon.

Lexie Aleah

This sounds SO good. I’m gonna have to order some to try. (: I wonder how their other teas are the grape one has good reviews as well.

Martin Bednář

amandastory516: they even have some loose-leaf teas, I think I would like to try some blends as well.

Dustin: well, there is almost everything on Amazon :D

Lexie: That sounds indeed interesting; I don’t recall having a grape flavoured tea.

After having this several days in a row… sipdown! I’m excited to have more room in my cupboard, but sad to see this one go. I’ll have a hard time not impulse buying more if I come across it again. Good solid malty banana flavor that I’ve enjoyed cup after cup!

I’m a sucker for a banana tea so when I saw someone on IG posting about this tea I wanted to try it immediately. When I opened the box I was surprised to not really smell anything. Not a good sign. Once that tea bag hit the hot water the scent of banana exploded. The banana flavor it more apparent when the tea is hot. As it cools I first taste the tea base in the sip, then the banana comes out in the finish with an almost caramel note. It is pretty impressive for bagged tea from some brand that seems off the beaten path. I bet it would be great as a latte!

Whoa, this is rich black tea with lots of flavour.

Brews dark, rich copper colour, clear brew as well. There is no dust, no opaque notes, though tea itself in tea bag is quite fine chopped.

But the taste is what matters the most. And results are following: it is very nice and malty tea, full of taste, with woody notes a just little bit. Very tasty, not bitter at all, rather mellow and enjoyable.

drank Green Tea Mango by Curtis
2052 tasting notes

Okay, new day, new tea. And as I have said yesterday, a starter is this Curtis Green Tea Mango!

I made some research to find what is in. As I have only one tea bag, I wanted to make it somehow perfect. Interesting ingredients, so I torn the tea bag, put it inside gaiwan and let´s see. Hmm; green tea apparently in, one bit of mango (probably) and few white crystals (probablysugar). The tea leaves are really fine, but what to expect from tea bag, right?

Okay, I have filled the gaiwan with about 80 °C water, and after 10 seconds steep I have strained it. Of course, lots of leaves went through. Tea itself is cloudy, quite green-yellow. In taste it is strong green tea with some sweet mango aftertaste. It works well somehow. The leaves in gaiwan smell like cut grass which wasn´t raked; and rain came. So bit like manure. But I am not supposed to sniff used leaves, right?

Second steep is 15 seconds long. Mango is less noticable, it remains actually just somehow bitter of mango. Tea part is weak.

30 seconds.
Mango is gone; tea is cheap – no taste, just plain green tea. What I have been expecting? A great tea? A great green tea? When they have to crush it? How naive I have been?

Conclusion? This is not tea for me; at least in gaiwan. First steep was best, as there was lots of mango sweetness. Now it tastes like some bitter water, without any scents of aromas. Nah I guess.

“But I am not supposed to sniff used leaves, right?”

Unless you’re a teadog.

Martin Bednář

Well derk – I do it, sometimes it is pleasant. But not this time
