357 Tasting Notes
David’s tea didn’t have the tea I was hoping for, so I caved and paid the big bucks for some of this one to make a couple rounds of night-time iced tea. I hot brewed it and served it over ice. I like it this way also, but it’s still not worth the price for such a heavy tisane. It’s a shame though…I think it’s one of David’s Teas’ better tasting herbal blends.
My overall opinion of this tisane hasn’t really changed since the first time I tried this. Sour citrus and eucalyptus just isn’t a taste I gravitate towards. I do kind of like the light orange juice aftertaste it leaves in my mouth though, hmmm, neato. I decided to try making a hot brew then tossing some ice in it since the weather has been so warm. I like it better this way…refreshing. Unfortunately it’s still a long way from making my favorites list. Not likely a repurchase unless I forget that I’ve tried it, and I see it at the 2 for $5 impulse buy display at the cash register.
I’m a little disappointed with this one, gotta say. There’s something in it that just doesn’t fit. The dry mix includes little dried purple flowers but the ingredients listing only says: green tea, raspberries, blueberries, blueberry flavoring. If I had to guess I would say this might include lavender? I could be wrong though…hmmm…I kind of hope so, I really don’t like when ingredients lists are inaccurate or incomplete.
It was worth a try but this isn’t a tea I plan to keep stocked in my cupboard.
Finished this sample today, my birthday is this weekend, so I thought it was a suitable choice. It’s quite sweet, but it’s a nice as a tea to drink on occassion. I’ll definitely pick up samples of this one in the future, but it’s a little too sweet for me to want in full size. Happy Friday!
I made this for the first time this morning, but I wasn’t quite awake when I made it and I assumed that it was a black tea and overheated the water. I don’t believe I’ve ever had ginger and cinnamon paired on a green tea base, it’s certainly unique, but I’ll probably like it even more if I use the correct water temperature next time…stay tuned :P
I enjoy drinking this one hot, but I visited some friends who had a crushed ice dispenser in their freezer door, so I decided to add some to my travel mug. Wow! So refreshing!
I’m off to check out the progress on the renos. Fingers crossed that the good progress will continue.
All done! I really enjoyed this one, and I will reorder it when I place my next order with Della Terra (whenever that happens). I just received a couple of big tea orders that should hold me over for quite a while…unless I run across yet another deal (or tea) that I can’t pass up. Ugh! I’m a sucker for a good deal. Speaking of which, my hubby and I finally bought our bed frame this past Sunday for about half the original price because it was last years model. Really? Last year’s model? Who knew? It was even cheaper than IKEA (and way better quality). On Saturday we found a two-sided mattress that we really wanted… It was an expensive weekend. :P
I thought I already logged this one? Multiple times. Huh? Strange
I’m finishing off my pouch of this one. I’d never heard of tulsi rama prior to this tisane, so of course I had to Google it. Holy Basil eh? I wonder how different it tastes from the basil I’m growing on my windowsill? I think I’ll have to try more tea with it – I suspect I like it. I find the woodiness of the rooibos pops over the other flavors a smidgen more than I’d like, but I’m not typically a rooibos lover so that may just be me? Even with the rooibos I still think this is good. I’d reororder a pouch of it if it becomes available again. I can never have enough caffeine-free options.
Random: I had to resist the urge to buy more tea with the recent 52teas Canada Day free shipping, and the Independence Day sale. I just had a huge box of tea arrive yesterday that my hubby will be giving me for my birthday, and I still have another order from 52teas on the way. I’m such a dummy sometimes, I originally misread the Canada Day free shipping special and I thought it was a Canada Day tea. The description mentioned maple syrup and because I was half asleep I read it to be a maple syrup tea. You would think the mention of mounted police would have tipped me off? Hmmm….what would that taste like?…maple syrup with a faint smell of horses –lol! What can I say, I’m a wreck before my first cup of tea!
Light and fruity. Both the tea and the black currant taste equally strong with a lovely sweetness. This one is dainty and classy, a perfect tea to sip while sitting on a patio on an early summer morning. I however, chugged it like a marathon runner whenever I had the opportunity while racing around the offic, trying to get everything done before the end of the day…it still tasted good.
