So this isn’t part of the travelling tea boxes, but a tea from my own collection. I was just browsing in David’s Tea one day and an awesome tea guide recommended this tea to me. She also suggested I blend it with Blueberry Jam, which I have yet to try, but I feel it will be a great match.
I had this tea today :)
Dry Leaf: The oolong leaves are with pineapple and apricot pieces that give off a nice fruity scent. The leaves themselves are nicely curled.
Steeped: When I poured the hot water over the leaves, they opened up nicely. It’s always nice to watch tea leaves unfold. The water is a nice, light yellow color. The scent from the tea is both sweet and floral. When I took a first sip of this tea, I found it had a light body with a nice soothing, yet subtle sweet taste that a had a nice creamy-ness to the body.
A longer steep added the taste of oolong into the mix, which was rather nice, as there was a nice contrast between the two flavors. For a later steeping, the flavor of the tea got richer in body and more velvety.
Iced: So since it is coming to be summer and the weather is finally acting nice, I feel that having the tea iced as well. I find that this tea is great hot and cold. The sweet scent does not leave, yet it is more subtle. The body is still light and creamy, and the flavor is sweet and very soothing. I can see myself enjoying this tea this summer by the pool reading a book.
