Second time trying this tea, but this time my husband made it since he wanted to give it a shot. It was very strong and very sweet, but I was expecting that since he usually adds enough sugar to fruity teas to rot someone’s teeth. It was a little much for me, but I still love the overall flavor and aroma of this tea. Definitely one of my favorites that I’ve tried from Zen Tea so far! The last time I went to Zen Tea, I made sure to pick up a bag. Definitely recommend it for any fruity tea lovers!

drank Earl Grey Creme by Teavana

Very solid tea from Teavana, used to be one of my favorites before I found out they used a lot of artificial flavors. Aside from fruity teas, heavily caffeinated teas tend to be my favorites so this fit the bill nicely in that department. I love the sweetness and creaminess compared to most other black teas, which are often a little too bitter for my liking. I generally feel no need to add cream or sugar to this tea, though, unless I mix it with the Honeybush Vanilla (also from Teavana). I would only ever mix it with a milder tea that has mostly honey or vanilla flavors, otherwise the Earl Grey Creme would overpower it. Not recommending because it’s no longer available.

drank Honeybush Vanilla by Teavana

I decided it was finally time to finish off the last of this that I have from before Teavana closed down. I usually mix it with Earl Grey Creme (also from Teavana) but decided to drink it alone for once. It’s definitely a mild taste when not doctored with cream and sugar. However, the flavor is stronger than many other teas since it’s mainly vanilla. The honey is not very prevalent compared to the vanilla, but I prefer most vanilla/honey combos this way. Not recommending since it’s not available anymore.

drank Ceremonial Matcha by Zen Tea

Zen Tea’s ceremonial matcha was a little more bitter than their regular organic matcha. (Although this could be due to user error, since this was my first time making matcha the traditional way.) It was still very enjoyable, though, both with and without sweetner. If you feel the need to sweeten it, sugar tends to taste better than honey in this one. For now I’ll say that I liked the regular organic better, but I appreciate how the higher quality one doesn’t clump up at all.

drank Oriental Beauty by Zhi Tea

Second time tasting this tea now, in my tea class. I’m starting to think this particular tea might be a bit of an acquired taste. I like it a lot better this time around than I did last time. I didn’t feel the same cooling sensation but the bitter aftertaste is significantly less noticeable. Not entirely sure how my classmate prepared it, but I imagine she must have done something different than the last time I tried it since it tasted so much better. Still has the same mildly chocolately smell that I love!

Not a fan of this tea so far, but I’ve heard a decent amount of hype about oriental beauty so I’m gonna give it another shot later one. It tastes pretty watery at first and it has a bit of a sharp-ish aftertaste. It’s also fairly bitter, but it felt like it had a mild cooling sensation to it that I did like. It also smells a little like chocolate, which I love!

drank Dragonwell Lung Ching by ZenTea

The flavor was extremely mild, in my opinion, but the earthy-floral aroma helped make up for that. I ordered it with some berry scones during one of my visits to Zen Tea. The scones definitely helped bolster the flavor without overpowering it with too much of a sweet taste.

This is some of the best matcha I’ve ever had (excluding my obsession with iced green tea lattes from Starbucks). It was sweeter than others I’ve tried, which was perfect for my tastes, and not nearly as astringent as some of the first matcha teas I ever tried.

Although I always prefer my fruity teas sweetened, this one was delightful even without sugar or honey. The strawberry was the strongest flavor, but it didn’t overpower the other flavors. The aroma was so pleasant and refreshing that I wish I could smell it all day, every day. I tried it in house at Zen tea House

drank Jade Dragon Oolong by ZenTea

I tried this in house at Zen Tea House. It’s one of the best Oolong teas I’ve ever had, and I didn’t feel the need to sweeten it at all. It was more of a green taste with a hint of floral to it.
