34 Tasting Notes
Drank this one at my buddy’s Reqwer’s place.
It’s an oolong tea from China, gave me a lot of surprises!
Really great oolong, much better than any oolong I’ve tried before. Reminded me of a pu-erh a little bit, some earthy and malty notes were definitely there! I drank it with a tad of sugar, but I think it would be great without it too. One more thing that was surprising, was that it didn’t have a strong smell! I expected a fairly rough smell, but it had just a nice little aroma, reminded me of walnuts a bit.
Oolong gets some bonus points from me for this one!
Preparation
Oh, the taste of this tea. At first, I was skeptical about it. But when I got to actually drinking it, it was amazing! I’ve re-bought it once already and I sure am planning on buying it again and again.
I’m not really sure what’s so great about this tea, but I suppose the grapes add very much flavor and aroma, and blends everything together. A very soft taste, but leaves a little tingling sensation in the tongue afterwards. I usually drink it with sugar, but without sugar it is also amazing.
Preparation
Ahh, it was a great breakfast with Lapsang. All my food (sandwiches, mostly) tastes like smoke after the first cup, it’s amazing! Love this :) Steeped it long this time, really thick and heavy smoke taste, like I wanted. See my previous notes about this tea too.
Preparation
My buddy Reqwer was kind to treat us with this tea at his place. I can’t say I felt every note of it’s taste, mostly because I was eating so much cookies and chocolates at the same time..But it went great with all the sweets and gave everything a warm earthy feeling. Not really my cup of tea (no pun intended at all), but I enjoyed it very much though.
Booklog:
Yes, Steepster isn’t a place for this, but I just wanted to keep it here, since books & teas go so well together :) I’ve just started reading The Black Company by Glen Cook. So far so good, we’ll see how violent will it get later, I sense a lot blood being spilled in the future.
Preparation
I haven’t drunk this one in a long time, because I was saving the last two bags for Christmas time.
It’s just like before – amazing. Really rich taste, this time I tried one cup with honey and one with milk. Still great, love this. See my previous note for more impressions, because this tea is as great as it was then :)
It’s a pity that Zhena’s Gypsy Teas don’t ship worldwide, because I would buy a looot of this one :(
Happy holidays, everyone!
Preparation
I’ve been drinking this tea every few days for almost half a year now. It tastes great with sugar or without it and accompanies many different meals in a magnificent way. I usually steep it a little bit stronger than it’s recommended by TeaVivre, but that’s just my personal way of drinking it :) A delicate taste, very rich, but also humble and very “quiet”, so to say. I can recommend this to everyone who is looking for an everyday tea.
Preparation
Sorry for being away for a while. I had a nice boat trip, enrolled in the University and got some small jobs for music composition. Overall, a great few summer weeks.
I just came home and drank this Lapsang. It is amazing. This time I accidentally added more sugar than always but it didn’t ruin it even a small bit. A lovely smell, makes everyone in the house wonder if I’m smoking meat in the kitchen :D
Hope you all are having a great summer!

Preparation
I am starting to write this note as I’m waiting for tea to cool down a bit.
The smell of dry leaves is great, some earthy, roasted and really warm elements blend together in a rich and strong aroma. It is very tempting to take a sip now, but I know I will just burn my tongue if I do it.
I made this tea for my family at my birthday dinner 2 days ago, but unfortunately I only took a little bit with me, so I actually didn’t get any :( Ohh, just a couple more minutes and I will be able to enjoy this one!
a little bit of impatient waiting later *Delicious! Truly great. At first I thought it was just a very usual black tea, but then a wave of yumminess blasted my taste buds :) Really nice rich aftertaste leaves me trying to concentrate on my mouth after every sip. This is one of the best black teas I’ve tried. Will definitely look forward to buying more.
Da hong Pao by Red Seal Tea is one of my favorite oolong tea from Wu Yi Mountains.
