It’s good but not all I was hoping for. I love chocolate and I love cherry, although I have yet to find either in a tea form that I adore. This is a nice smooth black base, and the chocolate flavor is present more in the aftertaste to me. The cherry is more of a fragrance than a flavor, but it’s there and it’s cherry as opposed to medicine. I wonder if part of the problem is that I bought this in a gift pack, so it was prepacked and sealed – that may be more likely to be a bit old and I’d bet cherry is somewhat volatile. Just musing, though. All in all, a nice solid and enjoyable cup with a sweetness to it, but not deserving of exclamation points in the name. :)

For a red rooibos, I like this. There is a creaminess and yet a tartness to it. It definitely has that woody tobacco scent, but that doesn’t carry over into the flavor. I can’t say I love it, because I really am not a red rooibos fan, but I will drink the rest of the small amount that I have.

This is exactly what its name says – Toasty Warm! I brewed according to the directions, which is pretty cool, so I’d be curious to try it warmer. It somehow does have nougat and nuttiness but isn’t at all sweet. I didn’t add anything to it, but I do think this would be even better with a bit of sugar. Sturdy enough for breakfast, but soft enough for afternoon or evening (if the caffeine isn’t an issue, of course). The only thing I don’t care for is that it seems to leave my mouth a bit sour, but that may be because I slept in today and haven’t brushed my teeth yet, lol!

It’s a solid breakfast tea without being bitter. I don’t get the pancake inspiration, but I swear this does remind me of raisin bread. I distinctly get raisins and cinnamon and bread or pastry. My husband and daughter think I’m nuts, though, about the raisins, so maybe it’s just me…but it was definitely there! I don’t love this as much as some of the other T2 teas I’ve tried, but I do think it’s good and I will enjoy all of it.

Wow, even after 3 years or however long it’s been out of business, my remaining Butiki teas are still good! I’ve just realized that I didn’t review them. Oops. I guess it doesn’t matter so much now, but I’m just that kind of person.

Anyway, still very chocolate and raspberry. I didn’t get a waffle flavor (or anything pastry-ish or vanilla-ish) but very nice. And somehow, it has a slight floral quality, probably most rose-like if I had to pin it down. If memory serves, this is pretty much how I felt about it when it was new and fresh, lol, but I won’t give this a numerical rating because I’m not sure that would be fair.

This is a strong, clean black tea base with a softness to it from the toffee flavors. It is definitely toffee, not caramel – subtle difference but one I appreciate. It’s warm and slightly nutty, with a sweet but not cloying finish.

I haven’t met a T2 tea I’ve disliked until now. It’s a lovely mix to look at, I’ll give it that. But I don’t know if it was just my bag (which I did shake up first) or what, but the only flavor in mine was intense anise. It was so strong I got that menthol burn from it. There was a faint underlying earthiness that I think was the chocolate, but it definitely didn’t taste or smell like chocolate. I don’t mind hints of anise, but this was so overpowering that’s the only real flavor I got.

This one is warm and cozy. The cardamom gives it an added depth and spice without making it “spicy.” It’s a nice balance of flavors, and the blend of honeybush and black tea makes it something I can enjoy at almost any time of day. I’ve not tried it as a latte yet, but that’s the next step!

This one was odd. It’s very fruity and very sweet. I made it as a hot tea and didn’t hate it but it just didn’t taste right. I’m going to try it iced, it sounds like that may be the way to go. It is definitely very flavorful (sometimes herbal/fruit teas seem to be missing a spine). Withholding numerical rating until I try it iced. Hot, I’d probably just give it a 55 or so – I drank what I made but have no interest in drinking it hot again.

Although this is labeled as a dessert tea, it was not sweet. It had hints of chocolate and vanilla, but nothing overly strong. There was butterscotch in the fragrance although I didn’t taste any in the brew. It would have been lovely with a sweet treat, but it was also good with savory food. I think the apple and rosehips perhaps contributed a tiny bit of brightness, but I couldn’t actually taste them. A nice and warming treat!

Wife, mom of 2 crazy young kids (and 3 cats, if they count). Used to be a professional tree hugger, now I stay at home hobbit-like and teach the kids to love the trees. Also hobbit-like, I love reading, tea, second breakfasts, cooking and food in general, and gardens. (I can’t really say I love gardening since where I live, it’s too dratted hot for too much of the year to actually do it.) I am always on the search for a good flavored decaf black tea. Suggestions are more than welcome!

I tend to like my teas strong, so I use more than most people when I brew. Don’t be put off a tea because I say I used 4 tsp to brew 12 oz or something – that’s just me.

PS – Unlike a hobbit, my toes are not furry. I just feel the need to clarify.
