16 Tasting Notes

This was fun. I don’t think I’d drink it more than once, but for a one time cup, I enjoyed it. It’s a little out of the ordinary and the mint smell reminded me of one of those pine tree air fresheners in a taxi cab.

I had to try this tea because I’m a Rooibos fan and I’ve heard honeybush is very similar. Have I heard wrong?
Plus.. I love Pina Coladas!
I enjoyed this tea. I wish I could taste the coconut flavor a little more and I really didn’t taste the ‘rum’ flavor at all, but I can always add that, right! Maybe I should add some rum to this and see if I like it more.

I’m having to taste around to explore my new found love of Yunnan. This one’s leafs are a little darker than the one I had before and not as fuzzy, if that’s an OK word to describe tea leafs. The color is really nice, and the taste is good. I think it’s not quite as smooth as the other one I had, but I’m still new with this tea. I’ll try it again later and see if I change my mind. I do like a good round tea though no matter what the type.

I use “fuzzy” to describe tea leaves all the time! Especially white leaves.

Ridicagood! Dave, you were right.

My Yunnan got here yesterday and I showed the patience to wait until this morning to have it. This is some smooth tea. Plenty of flavor and absolutely no bite. Love it!

I’m a night time Rooibos- feen. I aim to try just about all of them out there. This one caught my attention. I’m not sure why. Maybe it just had a nice label (I know, bad reason)
Anyway, personal note, red peppercorns in tea, do not repeat.

Yeah, this was just too spicy for me.

A friend of mine told me if I like premium tea and am already a fan of California Tea House then I’m really missing out if I have not tried their Golden Monkey Paw and Yunnan Golden Buds. So, like any other person who can’t turn down a good recommendation, here I am drinking my first cup of Golden Monkey Paw, and I have to tell my buddy Dave, “Dang! You are right!”
This tea is so perfectly clean, full rounded and just simply delicious. I guess I have to buy the Yunnan now.

OK, just by the name, I had to try this tea. I actually went to bed last night thinking about having this tea this morning…
Unforntunately, I was not happy with the flavor. Tea has a very earthy, natural taste that I love. Somehow this has managed to remove the natural and add in some kind of artificial taste. I’m not saying that it is not natural, it just doesn’t taste natural. The smell is not what I expected either. I have to give an A for trying though. The idea is awesome.

But earthy coconut cream pie sounds nasty to me lol.

This is a hearty Oolong. I am a big fan of Oolong and a friend told me about Big Red Robe. I can’t wait for my next cup. I have to say, this really has my attention. It’s delicious. I’ve never had a tea that left me feeling like I had breakfast! This is like a Brunello Montalcino. I say start your day with Big Red Robe and end your day with Brunello and you’ve had a great day!

House hunting all day in the rain. I’m worn out and stomach in knots.

This freaking tea is amazing! This has to be the smoothest Yunnan I have ever had, no lie. I feel much better now.
