19 Tasting Notes
I got this a long time ago when it went on sale.
Tastes planty and a bit nutty; I suppose you’d describe it as earthy. Very smooth and calming. It needs to be consumed hot. It gets ultra-gross when it’s even slightly lukewarm.
Maybe I’ll edit this later… I’m not used to this kind of tea and the words aren’t coming to me to describe it.
Preparation
This tea is extremely strong in both scent and taste… and perhaps shouldn’t even be considered your typical tea. I brewed a cup of this at a friend’s place, not expecting too much from it at first. As is typical with opening a box of tea, I expected a nice smell, thought nothing of it at first. Then I poured hot water over it. As the steam wafted from my cup, I was surprised by the strong spicy scent in the air, as well as my neighbor sitting beside me. It smelled so amazing, that I had to lean over and take some deep whiffs; wonderful! It smells stronger than a warm apple cider. With a bit of sugar in this tea, it tastes similar to that—a cider… but not quite as heavy with sugar— when brewed in the aforementioned manner, it gives you a wonderful balance of taste and light sweetness. I’m going to buy a box or two for myself the moment I see this when I go out next. Best thing I have ever drank (even outside of the range of teas) maybe… but that’s just my opinion. :³
Preparation
I love this tea. It’s sweet, but not overly-so. It doesn’t taste very artificial, though from the smell, you might think it would taste artificial. It’s far superior to orange flavored teas by Celestial seasonings, for sure.
All in all, I enjoy it very much.
Preparation
This will be my second tasting note for this tea; it’s somewhat a special note in that I was a bad girl.
I re-brewed a teaspoon of leaves for a second taste one night. The results surprised me. The usual spiciness was dissipated significantly and the tea mostly only had its fruity flavors included. Along with a heaping teaspoon of sugar, there were also significant artificial overtones brought out; I got the sensation of eating a fruity kid’s cereal. There was barely any bitterness despite this second brewing, however. It was still enjoyable, and I will not change my rating, but that rating is more for my note from the fresh brew awhile back.
Preparation
Yummy! This is probably the best chocolate tea I have tried thus far. It lacks that artificial taste that many have. It’s mildly complex in taste, with the hazelnut and cacao blending very well, and the spices in the blend complement those nicely. I recommend a longer steeping time to get a strong flavor; when I did it, there was basically no bitterness.
