drank Blueberry Zabaglione by 52teas

Wow… I am in blueberry heaven. 52teas’ blueberry is incredible. I can’t imagine living without it! It smells like blueberry through and through and it tastes even better.

I woke up late and decided to eat breakfast before going for my run. This tea poked through my memory and I decided to give it a try again. It is even better than I remember it. Right up there with my all time favorite blueberry Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. I am nearly out of my pound of that tea…. So now I am going to have a lot of trouble deciding if I want a pound of this or a pound of that for my next blueberry fix of tea… Oh, tea decisions are hard!

Upping the rating on this one!

OK, now, to go run! Enjoy your Sunday everyone! :)

Babble

I hope Frank decides to reblend Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. I never really got a chance to try it. I know it will be snapped up.

This tea wasn’t bad either. Not quite as good as Strawberry, but definitely an enjoyable cold brew :)

Azzrian

You too!

Fjellrev

I can’t believe how fast you’re ripping through that pound!

TheTeaFairy

Ninavampi, your review really makes me crave blueberries :-)

Kittenna

Almost through your pound of it?! O.o

drank Malted ChocoMaté by 52teas

We are getting ready to celebrate our company’s 24 Anniversary! I am in charge of marketing, so needless to say, I am swamped at work once again! Thankfully I enjoy being busy, sadly I miss my sleep. I decided that this tea would make a great morning tea for this week!

I had this tea only once before, and it struck me as fairly average. It didn’t work the magic I had expected it to. It has been quite a while from this last time, the tea has settled and it has become much better!

The dry tea definitely has a malted chocolate ball smell to it. It is more malty than chocolatey and there is a definite mate roastiness to the scent. I really like it.

The resulting cup of tea, in my opinion, must be sweetened to obtain full chocolate effect. It is indeed a very good malted chocolate flavored tea. There is no bitterness to it. The first flavor to hit is chocolate and maybe a hint of vanilla. The maltiness follows. And then, surprisingly, I taste a tiny bit of fruitiness, maybe a hint of banana. Odd, but tasty!

I really am enjoying my ritual of morning Malted Chocolate Mate! It has gotten me this far in my busy week! Hopefully it will pull me through Saturday as well (I have to work weekends this week… The only part I don’t love about my job!)

it’s always so nice to do the extra miles for a job we like especially when we are happy with the results (generally people don’t realize how many efforts it take to coordinate and deliver projects). The good point is you can drink more teas especially ones with an high level of caffeine..

Ninavampi

Very true! :)

This is a special tea for me. Not because it is super delicious, but because it was the tea that made me start being an active member here on Steepster! Ashley (no longer active here on Steepster) sold me some of it because she had to get rid of her tea because she was moving. I was really excited to try it because I had read so many cool things about it and I can’t get any David’s tea here in Ecuador. So, one thing led to another, and I am here to stay on Steepster, but, as I realized this morning, I haven’t written a review for this tea yet!!!

The dry blend is really colorful and fruity. There are easily identifiable pieces of all kinds of fruits. Oddly enough, there are even carrots! It smells a bit like a mix of watermelon and banana candy. Very tropical fruity. It doesn’t quite scream watermelon, but it does flaunt its deliciousness as a fruity blend.

Once brewed I taste a bit more banana than watermelon, but watermelon is definitely there. It is super sweet without adding any sugar to it. Once iced, the watermelon shows up a it more. Sweetened it tastes like candy. I think that it could use a tiny bit of tartness to make the flavor stand out and make it seem less like candy water.

I really enjoy this tea, but it must be iced and only once in a while. It is super sweet, so when I want something sweet and fruity, this is exactly what I reach for. :)

I miss Ashley! She’s my FB friend – she’s moved around quite a bit but she seems to be settled and happy now :)

Daniel Scott

Yeah, this one definitely needs sugar to bring out the melon.

SimpliciTEA

Ninavampi: I bought some tea from Ashley as well, and I enjoyed all of it (my first exposure to 52Teas and DavidsTea)! DaisyChubb: I am glad to hear Ashley is doing well.

drank Vanilla Black by Babington's
160 tasting notes

Vanilla, the queen of flavors in my life. Long live Vanilla in her creamy sweet glory! :) I am still trying any vanilla that crosses in my path in hopes that I will encounter a vanilla tea that truly leaves me in awe.

This is one of the teas that I bought when I went on my Europe trip a few months back. I found it in a nice little tea shop called Babington’s in Rome. It is at the end of the Spanish steps where all of the super expensive shops are, needles to say, these teas were a bit expensive as well. I only bought the minimum to try, but since my cousin lives in Rome, I know that she could always bring me some when she visits. :)

The dry leaves are larger than I am used to seeing in a black flavored tea. The scent is super high on the creamy note and a bit light on the actual vanilla. The vanilla in this tea reminds me a bit of the smell of a birthday cake in the oven, only a bit more relaxed.

Once brewed, the burgundy brown tea smells amazing. It makes my tongue do a happy dance in anticipation. It is shockingly smooth, the vanilla, creaminess and black tea work all together and surround you like a huge wave of vanilla icing!

Unsweetened it tastes delicate and dainty. Smooth and creamy with a dash of astringency from the black tea. The aftertaste tingling on my taste-buds as pure vanilla delight. Sweetened it is decadent. Wow vanilla cream tea! It is like liquid vanilla bean ice cream! It is so tasty that I downed my entire cup so quickly that I immediately needed to make another! My only critique for this tea is that it could use a tiny bit more vanilla over cream in the flavoring… But hey, almost perfect!! One step closer to perfect vanilla black! (I am so happy my cousin is able to bring me some more of this one day, I am going to be sad when I run out!)

Perfect way to start a Sunday, vanilla, Sencha (my dog), cloudy skies, and Dr. Who!! Now, back to Dr.Who on Netflix (and more tea of course!)!

How fine! I know the area around the Spanish Steps where there are a couple of Tea Shops! (Love Rome) It sounds like you’ve got the best plan for Dr. Who viewing too.

Autistic Goblin

Yaay Doctor Who! nothing like a good cup of tea and Doctor Who :D

Terri HarpLady

Yay Dr Who!! I actually ordered the ‘farewell Ponds’ blend from Adagio, even though I usually detest blueberries in tea, LOL, I just had to try it.

drank Raspberry by Adagio Teas
160 tasting notes

I am backlogging this from yesterday. It took me a week to get a little better of my cold. Yesterday was the first time I wanted tea during the week, before that I could barely breathe through my nose and everything tasted exactly the same.

I might have had this a little too early, because I still couldn’t really taste much. Thankfully it is strong enough that I could sort of make out the raspberry flavor and a hint of black tea. Tasty enough for my first cup of tea after a long week in bed recovering from the worst cold I have ever had… So glad it seems to be coming to an end! On a positive note, I got towatch a lot of Dr. Who!

If you want a proper tasting note on this tea, where I can actually taste it, please see my precious note! :)

Hesper June

Glad you are feeling better!

ashmanra

And on that note, I am happy to report that I finished the Season 16-17 Tom Baker scarf this morning, including the fringe!

Tabby

That’s so cool, Ashmanra! Can we see it? I love Doctor Who.

Ninavampi

Hesper June Thanks! :)

ashmanra Please share a pic! :) That is so cool!

ashmanra I am going to take photo of my daughter in it shortly and I will post a link in my next review! :) She is wearing it to Star Wars Reads night at Barnes and Noble tonight. My son and godson are “trooping” in their SW costumes, so there will be plenty of geeky folks like us who will know what it is.

Cranberries are tasty. Mostly they remind me of Thanksgiving and Holiday-like festivities. Like most things that remind me of the US, is it very hard to find cranberries in Ecuador. If you do find them they are in dry form or in super sweet drink concoctions. I was surprised to find out that 95% of all cranberries are used in fruit drinks and sweetened dried fruit. No wonder that is the only way I can find cranberries in Ecuador!

When I opened the golden packet of cranberry matcha, I did get a hint of cranberry scent. It reminded me of fresh homemade cranberry sauce; it was quite inviting and festive. It even had a promise of tartness to the scent. I love the way the scent of the green matcha stands through the flavoring of all of the Red Leaf Tea Matcha I have tried so far. I always order delicate flavoring to make sure that I don’t miss out on the deliciousness of the green tea flavor!

Once prepared and nicely frothed (no sweetener in my matcha!) the scent became more delicate, almost like a shadow of the strong scent that the powder had. Each sip was a short stroll through all the flavors that showed up in this tea. Upfront stood the cranberry, it filled my nose and taste buds just for a second, immediately after the flavor of green tea took over. Sweet and smooth the green tea flavor finally gave way to a tasty fruity aftertaste. It wasn’t quite cranberry in the aftertaste, mostly just fruitiness. There is no doubt that it tasted like cranberry, but what made it exceptionally good was the fact that there was more than just one layer to the cranberry flavor. Thankfully, there was no tartness in the flavor, tartness just doesn’t work in matcha for me. I am particularly happy with this tea. I don’t think I could have though up a better tasting cranberry if I had tried!

All the tastiness plus the fact that it is good for you makes this tea something you really should try! You can get some for yourself here: http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/cranberry-matcha.html

drank Peppermint by Adagio Teas
160 tasting notes

It happened… My body finally gave into the virus that was threatening to give it a cold. I am so angry at it! It hit so bad that I actually had to stay home from work. It is awful. I have spent my day in bed sneezing and blowing my nose, dealing with a fever, and worst of all with no appetite… That means, I have no yearning for food or tea! It is pretty terrible to be home with all my tea and not want to drink any of it!

Finally I got my self to go eat something and made myself a HUGE cup of this tea and iced it. I didn’t want to drink anything hot… Just iced! It tasted spectacular! It even cleared my sinuses enough so that I could taste my food! :)

This is possibly the best peppermint I have ever had. I am in love with it! Sadly, I do tend to drink it when I am sick, so it reminds me of feeling icky… But I still drink it when I am healthy from time to time and it is great.

It has enough of a kick to it that it leaves you feeling cleansed and refreshed, but still sweet enough that it can be a tasty anytime drink. I especially like it sweetened. Yum yum yum…

It is also really great to mix with Adagio’s Vanilla Black. The resulting blend is the best candy cane flavored tea ever! You have to try it for yourself to believe it! Trust me, it is worth it!

I am ashamed to admit that I still have samples untasted that Teavivre sent to me. Tonight, after a productive work day, I decided that it should also be a productive tea day. So, on to tasty Teavivre samples! This particular one was one of the ones I was most excited to try.

The smell of the dry leaves is a mix of malt and hay. I get a hint of chocolate, but mostly I get malty notes and even a bit of molasses. The leaves are a beautiful mix of black, brown and golden.

The brew is a dark burgundy brown. It smells thick and inviting. I can see how it reminds some people of chocolate. I get sweet molasses notes and a hint of creaminess. The flavor is malty and still holds hints of hay. There is a strange sour flavor that lingers at the end of each sip. I added a little rock sugar and it helped smooth it out a little. It did taste quite a bit like malted chocolate balls! (or Milo which is malted chocolate milk that they have here in Ecuador!)

Sadly it, isn’t quite what I wanted but I recognize that it is very very good. I can see how it could be some people’s favorite. :)

I love this one dearly. Oh, and Teavivre will remind you if you fall behind on your reviews, haha.

Bonnie

I think this is a really good standard black tea also. I agree that it’s best sweetened and I add milk for morning tea. This pairs with the maltiness very well.

Ninavampi

Tabby – Hmm… I guess that means that I am not as far behind as I thought! :)

Bonnie – I will have to try it with milk! :)

CHAroma

I have several untasted Teavivre samples as well, so don’t feel bad. So much tea, so little time!

This tea has been sold out for a while… I took my time to purchase it and actually snagged one of the very last ones. It is really hard for me to keep myself from purchasing the cheesecake blends from 52teas, they are so tasty!! It has taken me quite a while to get around to trying it. I am trying to make myself drink through a few of my teas before I allow myself to try new ones. I am mostly succeeding, except when I don’t and fail miserably and buy more tea and drink new ones before I drink down what I should… Oh well! :)

As soon as you open this tea it smells like freshly cut apricots. Mouth-watering. There are a few large leaves, but mostly they are large fragments of fuzzy white tea. The leaves has small diced pieced of apricot that seem to be dried apricot. Yum!

Once brewed, the light yellow tea smells undeniably like apricot with a hint of tartness to it. I am not really getting any cheesecake scent from it. I am getting, strangely enough, a coconut rum scent. Yep… Coconut rum… It was so odd! I had to sniff it a few times, but surely enough, I kept smelling something that reminded me strongly of rum…

The taste was all apricot. There was a hint of creaminess and tart that was evidently the cheesecake playing in. I had it unsweetened, so I will have to try it sweetened to see how it plays with the flavours. I really enjoyed its natural sweetness and smooth flavouring. The apricot worked really well with the Shou Mei. All in all a delicious experience. Just in case you were wondering, I got no rum flavour at all (in my case, this is a good thing!)

All in all, even factoring the random rum scent I found, this is a really tasty tea. I great way to end a long and particularly stressful day! :)

I am drinking the last little bit of this. I am really sad that it is gone… It was a really enjoyable fruity blend. Once again, thanks for sharing Angrboda!

This time around I feel like I tasted both the orange and the strawberry! The strawberry during the sip and the orange as the aftertaste. I taste a tiny bit of something buttery, which must be there to represent the scone part of this tea. The scent still reminds me a whole lot of 52teas sherbet, which is a good thing. It is delightfully fruity. There is a tiny little kick from the black tea at the end of each sip that makes this tea delicious. All in all, a great way to start my day!

I read my first note on this tea before I wrote this one and remembered pretty much exactly what was going on in my life at the time. It made me smile! For those who are wondering (from my previous post on this tea where I talk about opening a new store), the store is up and running! While it isn’’t the huge success I wanted it to be, it is still doing really well! : ) Thanks everyone for the encouragement you gave me while I was working on it! It really is great to have a Steepster family to lean on!

Nik

That’s great to hear! All the best for your continued success. :D

Indigobloom

Congrats!! I know it will continue to thrive under your watch! :)

Ninavampi

Thanks! :)

CHAroma

Yay! Congrats! What kind of store is it? If I was in Ecuador, I’d stop by and show my support! :)

Ninavampi

Hi CHAroma! It is a retail chain. We sell a bit of everything. Mostly electronics and stuff for your home like coffee makers, toasters, etc. :)

CHAroma

Ooh cool! I’m so happy for you that it’s going well! Keep up the great work!

I love tea and have since I was a little girl. Once I could buy my own tea, I began to explore and learn about the extensive and delicious world of tea!

Also, love my French Bulldog (named Sencha…) and my tea oblivious boyfriend. I enjoy ice skating (I am a part time coach), reading, writing, baking, running, and lots of sweets!

My favorite teas tend to be on the sweeter side. Both flavored and plain teas are great to me. Currently going through a flavored tea phase. Enjoying it greatly! : )
