2025 Tasting Notes
Yesterday I ate too much kebab apparently and today was my stomach upset.
So I took another tea bag – I should return to loose leaf at home.
Zažívání means digesting. Steeped for 10 minutes, as it is recommended, boiling water.
Colour is medicinal green. Like the box I guess.
Aroma – herbs, peppermint and chamomile.
Taste – herbal, dominant peppermint with chamomile sweetness. Bit spicy due to ginger. Nice and easy drinking tea, pure herbals, no extra ingredients. It was not really tasty – but it was not so bad as I expected.
My stomach feels better now.

Preparation
I was looking for some simple Bergamot tea tis morning and took this one again.
It was again very nice, blend of teas was carefully selected so it was smooth with little of citrusy taste. But this time it was not malty at all. Aroma was very different too; completely different than first time. It smelled like campfire and smoke. I did not noticed any fresh citrus aroma this time. Colour was dark copper without oil flecks. Probably less oil on these leaves?
But still it was nice blend – so I would not change my rating.

I would not rate, as I usually do not like camomile on it its own.
I guess it is okay tea. Aroma was nice, no funky notes, no unpleasant stuff. Colour was nice golden and quite clear. Bit of dust settled down the mug. Taste – well, just camomile, quite soothing . But it is camomile.

I have this one from October 2017 apparently. Some last rolls in a tin. For first time prepared in gaiwan, so let´s see.
20 s rinse, 30 s steepings
At first it smelled very citrusy, like crushed lemon peel or lemon dish detegrent. That one is unfortunately (or fortunately?) gone with rinse. Now it smells and tastes like grass, maybe bit of hay, quite flowery though. Hmm, not great. Bit bland maybe.
Boring tea. Hay and grass, bit flowers.
Liquor colour is pretty green, with bit of yellow notes. Clear though.
Maybe it is old, maybe just cheap oolong. At least the leaves are quite big; now I have full gaiwan of leaves and almost no space for water.

Well, another gift, another tea bag. But at least nice wrapping which is going to be awesome in my collection.
Aroma is really strong, it was like smelling bloom of sakura itself. Mug (about 300 ml), boiling water. There were no instructions. Or maybe in Japanese. Hmm. Let´s see.
Colour was turning quite quick to copper – apparently it is black tea with sakura flavouring / aroma. But it was smelling great, full blooming sakuras. No tea notes. I took bag out about two minutes of steeping.
Taste was smooth and flowery. Bit of cherries. But it was pleasant. I liked it more than expected.

I am going quite simple recently, so another tea bag.
On the tag there is a quote: “An attitude of gratitude brings opportunities”
Now to the tea:
Dry it was like mixture for mulled wine. Very spicy, not much distinctive aromas. They claim it has got Assam black tea, which I was not really sure.
They advise 7 minutes steeping time with boiling water. I had boiling water, but after 6 minutes I thought that it is enough so I guess it was around 6 and half minutes in the water. Aroma was mostly cinnamon, cloves and star anise.
It was dark brown, cloudy colour. It was not looking so bad.
Taste: quite complex and spicy, like all spices together. Quite acrid. Usually I am not really fan of these. But it was still quite drinkable – just not my cup of tea. Again cinnamony and star anise. I have finished it, but nope – as usually, chai (and Yogi brand in general) is not my cup.

I have received this tea (bag) as a gift; so I am looking forward for it. Probably my first pure Kenyan tea.
Mug 300 ml, 3+ minutes of steeping.
In aroma I was hit by malt, but also some fruit notes? But mostly strong malt or/and typical “black tea” aroma. Something like breakfast blend. As it cools down I noticed also freshly baked bread aroma.
Liquor is nice, clear dark copper colour. I am amazed how it´s clear – I am not really expecting it in tea bag.
Taste is smooth and malty. In fact something I expected something like that in black tea. And as it is pure black tea, without any additives – it is great! Yeah, it tastes really like a breakfast blend (too bad that I am drinking it in 7 pm :D ) If I have honey, I can imagine put some in. I prefer teas plain, but bit of honey taste can make it even bit better. It goes bit bitter – but still, quite good to drink. If I have another tea bag, I will shorten a steeping time a bit.
If you have a chance to get it – I recommend!

Preparation
I caught some common cold, so I took some fruity tea. This should increase my metabolism, but I don´t care. I just wanted something easy drinking.
Aroma is really blueberry and raspberry as on sample (actually coupon) bag written.
Colour – clear and deep red.
Taste is quite medicinal, hibiscus and rosehips and fruits. Probably mix of blue/raspberry. At least it is fruity and not artificial. Or well done artificial.
In conclusion, quite good, not so sweet, fruit blend.

I took this pu-erh while they offered free shipping above reasonable price and I could not resist. I think that price 4.50 USD for quite nice pack of tea.
I made first steep 15 seconds long and then each other 30 seconds.
First aroma I have noticed is cocoa which is not mentioned here at all! Then wet soil – but in pleasant way. In third steep I noticed bit mineral notes. Still bit creamy – sweet.
Colour has changed a lot – from light brown to really deep red-brown. And it looks bit oily.
Ah, I forgot one steeping in gaiwan. But it is forgiving – it is still very nice to drink. I like it very much. I have not counted number of steeps – I just really like this pu-erh; easy drinking for beginners as I am. Clearly recommended!

Preparation
Another cuppa, hotter water.
It changed quite a lot. It still smells like jasmine. But in taste there were some notes of stonefruits and now even bit of apricot and/or honey. It is smoother than last time, with little notes of jasmine as it colds down.
Colour of liquor is darker, rather orange, but tastes like green tea. Maybe better batch than last time? Or temperature of water changed it so much? Interesting though, better than last time!
