Day 21.

Bergamot. I Like.

Just a note to Dammann, whom I am sure is not reading these reviews at all. Please try to put your green teas in the green tea coloured packaging. And not sometimes put the green teas in the same coloured packaging as the black teas. Or just not colour code at all, because you are kinda not good at it. But I still love your teas.

So I realized this was a green tea upon taking the sachet out of the package.

This was is heayy on the bergamot, and I am enjoying that. I smell peach in the tea, but I am not getting any type of fruitiness in the flavour. The green tea mixed with the flower petals is coming across as quite woody.

Day 20.

I am behind by one day. I didn’t have a chance to have this yesterday.

This is an apple tea. Nina’s Marie Antoinette is so good that I had high hopes for this one.

This year many of Dammann’s teas give me a black licorice taste and scent. I am pretty sure it is not me as I am not getting this with other teas. I don’t recall this last year.

This tea, to me has quite a scent of black licorice. It is supposed to contain black cherry so I wonder if that is what I am getting.

This tea has that black licorice/black cherry flavour. There is an artificial, but pleasant, sweet red apple flavour. It makes me think of candied apples. I think I am getting a bit of caramel. There is a very slight floral flavour. Initially the black tea base seems quite light but closer to midsip it becomes bold. There is a strange astringency in the aftersip. It is more a tingling sensation,

I wish this one was a bit more apple, but it wasn’t too bad.

Holy wow! This one is good.

It is funny becuase I couldn’t find it in the database, only because I forgot what it was called. I made the tea and then came to work. I first looked up christmas tea and that wasn’t it. Then I tried holiday tea and it looked right but there was chocolate in that blend and I would most likely never buy a tea with chocolate in it so I was quite confused. I actually went to my account at the harney site to look at my previous order. Then I figured it out.

There was quite a lack of description on this tea on the harney site when I bought it, so I went in a little blind.

But it is so good. Certainly a holdiay/celebration tea. Not necessarily christmas but it does work for this time of year.

Becuase I couldn’t find this tea on steepster, I have already drank it all and can’t wuite remember what it tasted like, but it was good. There was definitely an almond flavour, cinnamon and maybe some cloves. There was orange citrus flavours. The black tea was moderately bold, great for that holiday tiredness but it was still quite smooth. There was definitely a creamy, vanilla like flavour as well.

So good. I wish I could have more when I get home but it will be too late in the day for caffeine. I will try to post again tomorrow.

Day 19. Same as last year.

I think my taste buds have changed a bit from last year. I actually don’t find this one too bad.

I am getting strong vanilla. Slight fruity flavours, like apricot. Getting no citrus and absolutely no chocolate. I am not getting the smokey base tea this year that I complained about last year. I don’t necessarily think it is my tastes buds that have changed so much but it is that these are tea sachets which I know are not always consistent. Especially when they are made from normally loose leaf tea.

Getting a bit bored with this calendar this year unfortunately. I just wish they would have at least mixed up the order of the teas this year as compared to last year.

Still love Dammann tea though.

Day 18.

This one reminds me of cola flavouring for some reason. I think it is probably the ginger and cloves. I am not finding much black cherry flavour this year. I found the rooibos to be the predominate plavour this time. It was ok. It was hard to enjoy this one because I just wasn’t looking forward to a rooibos today.

Day 17.

Is this a new tea? I had to add it to the website. There is black version on steepster but not a green. Hopefully this is getting posted in the right spot.

On first smell of the dried tea, all I could think of was cherry cough syrup green tea. Not exactly appetizing.

The taste is much better. It is a smooth, creamy, green tea. The creaminess may be a bit of vanilla or a bit of caramel but I can’t quite place the source of the creaminess that I am feeling on my palate. I am getting some kind of fruity flavour which I attribute to cherry but I am a bit unsure. There is also a nice floral component to this tea. It is just very slightly sweet. There is a very tiny touch of astringency to the green tea at the end of the sip. The flavours of the tea feel a bit watered down.

I did not look up the description of this tea before I postd about it. So I could be way off taste. But that is what I am tasting.

Day 16.

I was again disappointed in this one, as I was last year. I feel like I am getting strong black licorice flavours, but I aam wondering if that is supposed to be the fig. I am definitely getting a creamy texture, but not so much strawberry. The black tea base is extremely bold. I only intended to steep for a few minutes but I am wondering if I lost track of time.

Day 15.

This tea smells delicious. But I am scared to try it becuase the deliciousness appears to be quite perfumey. There are scents of sweet jasmine and lychee.

This tea is interesting. There is definitely a jasmine base. It is not as strong as I would have thought in comparison to the smell. There are hints of lychee flavour. Lychee fruits are delicious. But the bad thing is that often in tea is comes across as very perfumey, and I am getting that in this case. This tea is strongly floral. Strong hints of rose. The tea liquor is light and thin, but the flavours remain quite strong.

My snippet review for this tea would be: smells perfumey, tastes perfumey.

Day 14.

So I guess I pretty much didn’t like this last year. I wish that when you make subsequent posts on a tea you can add additional ratings. Because this year I am finding it not too bad. So I am going to change the rating. But that doesn’t change the experience I had last time. So in short, I wish I could give a tea a different rating each time I had it to reflect my experience…

Also I find it quite amusing that on this teas page, the English translation description of the tea is different from the French one.

This tea smells very delicious. Creamy cherry with almonds and rose petals. The taste of the tea is a fairly nice white base. Slightly astringent. There are notes of cherry and definitely some almond nuttiness. I feel like I am getting rose this year, although I don’t think rose petals are part of this blend.

As I noted above I am bumping the rating up from 60.

I thought I would like this one a lot more than I did. It smelled and tasted heavily roasted. But there was also a very strong floral oolong flavour, very greenish tasting. I much prefer a darker oolong vs a green one.

It did brew up very light and clear. There was a slight natural sweetness to the tea. I just wish there was more roast to the flavour profile. I will have to try further steeps.
