270 Tasting Notes
I didn’t really know what I was doing last night when I concocted this but it worked! I steeped it with boiling water for a few minutes then let it cool in my little glass pitcher to let it cool. Then I threw some strawberries I had in my freezer in it and let it sit overnight. I think I could have let it steep a bit longer as there is not a lot of flavor but it is refreshing and enjoyable as is :)
Finally getting back to Steepster after quite the hiatus. My first clinical rotation is coming to a close this week and things are going to slow down for a bit. I’ve drank tea here and there throughout finals and my rotation. It was never anything new so it never crossed my mind to log. This being my oldest tea I decided to finish it up (as I sat down to order from DavidsTea). I do enjoy this one. It’s like fruit juice with a little kick.
I remember you said you were studying to be a pharmacist. What do you do in your clinical rotation? Do you work in the hospital or somewhere else? Do you have long hours?
We have eight “blocks” of five weeks. The one I am finishing up is at a specialty pharmacy. We work closely with doctors, coordinators, insurance companies, and patient assistance programs to help people with cancer, HIV, hepC, transplants, and cystic fibrosis. It’s been interesting, yes long hours and most of my remaining time is spent on projects :) I have my next block off though :)
From TTTTB: I didn’t plan things out well this morning. By the time this cooled enough to drink it was nearly time for me to head out. I was able to take a couple sips and have decided that it’s not for me. I am realizing that there are many black teas I do not enjoy.
Preparation
From TTTTB: Yummy! If I ever make it to one of their shops, I will have to stock up! Jump62359 Thank you for including this for all of us to taste. Also, your labels are wonderful!!
Preparation
Hehe I was bored one day and decided to actually put some effort into packing my teas and BAM that happened. I literally started squealing to my roommates because I was really happy with how cute they turned out ahha.
But tea labels aside, I’m so happy that you got the chance to try this tea! It’s my all time favourite tea and I’m happy that it’s fairly not so easy for me to get to. This tea is only available in their San Francisco stores and I’m at Uni in SoCal so it’s like 7hours away from me now :/ But I have family like 30minutes away from SF so with a bit of sweet talking, I can convince them to run into the city and grab me a package or two hehe :)
Do you have any program you use for the labels or is it just skill with word?
Yes, I (somewhat sadly) placed in back in the TTTTB. Something that yummy needs to be shared! Thanks again for allowing us to sample it!
Nope! It’s just plain old Microsoft Word. I play around with photoshop a lot so I have a ton of random fonts I’ve used for random projects, and that font I used was my favourite :)
I most definitely would have given everyone a sachet, but the TTB was waaay small! If I ever have the chance to go back to the city, I’ll definitely buy tons more of this tea just to send them out to people :)
From TTTTB: Not sure how I feel about this one. I feel like I may have under-leafed it. Hmm, splenda brings out a little more of the flavor. I don’t really understand the (often men’s) fascination with red velvet. Give me chocolate! With frosting, lots of it. Maybe that’s what I feel is lacking. A cream-cheesy flavor to accompany the red velvet portion. I was excited when I saw this in the (my first ever) traveling tea box. I recently have gotten a good friend of mine hooked on tea and red velvet is what she always requests when I offer to make goodies. I was thinking of ordering this for her, maybe after we get through our recent David’sTea order.
Wanted something warm as I wait for my first final to close out this hectic day. Found this at my cafeteria. Smells really good. Not as good as it smells though. I think I need to cave and get http://www.amazon.com/Tovolo-TeaGo-The-Mobile-Press/dp/B001WAKDMM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398803867&sr=8-2&keywords=tovolo+tea+infuser , so I have tea on hand.
From TTTTB: This is good! I am partial to mint as peppermint is something that started me in on tea :). It pairs nicely with the black tea in it. I may add this to a future DavidsTea order.
Preparation
Moving the rating of this one up as I am sad that I am finishing it this morning. It’s more blueberry this morning because I dumped everything I had left into my PerfecTea maker, as what was left after I scooped the amount for my normal cup wasn’t even enough for a normal cup. Tasty :)
