270 Tasting Notes
My oldest tea, I should have just enough for one more cuppa after this sitting. This is a very light, lightly caffeinated, choice for this evening. The boyfriend states that he is keeping me up as late as possible in the hopes of making my adjustment to another time zone (+7 hours from here), starting Monday for four weeks, a bit easier. I added a tiny bit of Truvia to encourage the light guava flavor. I do find this cup a welcome relaxation after several busy days preparing for travel. I do have to say that I am not terribly sad to see this one leaving my cupboard soon. It’s been a long time since I’ve had it and I can’t see restocking it as I am finding many other things that deserve a space in my stash.
Preparation
Sore throat today. Yesterday involved a ton of talking between a flu shot clinic and then manning the table for senior day at my Walgreens store. I’m not sure how I feel about this. This is my first licorice tea so maybe that is what is making my throat feel funny, like it’s being coated. That could be how it helps sore throats? It’s not pleasant, everything just gets stuck in one place on the top back of my mouth. I don’t even taste this otherwise. I think I’ll leave this one for the boyfriend to try but I doubt I will reach for it again.
Preparation
I think I’m on a black tea kick and liking it more and more with each new one I try. This one balances sweet against the black tea in a favorable way. It is almost like both the flavors subdue the other creating a nice blend.
Preparation
I was reading the, quite mixed, reviews on this one as I was letting my pot boil. I got more nervous as I realized that this seems to be a hit or a miss. I needed something on the more caffeinated side as I just arrived home from work and a delicious lunch with the boyfriend and have a large pile of work ahead of me for the rest of my day.
I thought I would end up putting milk or something in this but I am enjoying it enough straight. This is a pleasant surprise as I was under the impression I did not like many black teas, let one straight ones!
Preparation
I was curious to try this one. It doesn’t look like fall yet and it was hot today but September is almost over so I’ve decided to get in the fall mind set. It is my favorite season after all. This is not specifically cider but it is definitely apple. It reminds me of a Jolly Rancher sucker.
Preparation
Based on the smell of this tea, I expected a more potent flavor. To my (pleasant) surprise it is not as overbearing as anticipated. I for sure get cinnamon and berry flavor out of it. It is blueberry but not. I will need another cup of this before I decide where it stands in my cupboard.
If you are going to Europe the best thing you can do is just stay up when you get there, have a long day, and not go to sleep until their normal bedtime that night. Source: four trips and much jet lag
Thanks for the tip :) I am going over to Africa. It would likely be a similar scenario.
It is a similar scenario. I went to Africa a couple of summers ago and we did the stay up when we got there thing and it worked very well. :)
Great to hear! Thanks. Where in Africa did you go?
Safe travels!
We went to Tanzania with a layover in Nairobi, Kenya. It was a fantastic trip. Where are you going to be?
Thanks Terri HarpLady!
Nicole, I will be in Manzini, Swaziland.
