TeaTiff TTB #11
Plum Deluxe French Breakfast doesn’t show up anywhere online that I can find…not sure if it’s discontinued or mislabeled or what’s going on with that? But I did really enjoy the tea! It had a sweet, natural strawberry flavor balanced with creamy vanilla. My husband was also a fan!
Flavors: Creamy, Strawberry, Sweet, Vanilla

I enjoyed this more than the Lemon Lullaby as a fruity bedtime tea, though it was a bit too floral for my tastes (I’m not the biggest fan of jasmine and didn’t realize it was in this blend when I picked it to try). The lychee flavor was really nice, though!
Flavors: Floral, Fruity, Jasmine, Lychee

The dry leaf of this one has such a unique look! I’ve never seen oblong “pearls” like this. Steeped, the flavor is also quite unique…kind of like a mix between white tea and black tea. It’s richer and maltier than a white tea, but has that distinctive white tea flavor that always reminds me of hay. It also seems like it would resteep quite a few times! This isn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but I can tell it’s high quality and I hope someone else loves it.
Flavors: Hay, Malt

If this wasn’t labeled as a black tea, I might have guessed it was an oolong. Super smooth with a rich, buttery mouthfeel! The passionfruit flavor was a bit muted when hot, but came through more strongly as it cooled. I’m thinking this would be amazing as an iced tea!
Flavors: Butter, Passion Fruit, Smooth

Interesting to me that T2 has so many teas with “breakfast” in the name that are flavored and this one is their traditional unflavored breakfast blend! It wasn’t anything special, but a solid classic breakfast blend that takes milk well.
Flavors: Malt

My husband and I polished this off with breakfast this morning. Though the inspiration sounded delicious, we found the actual blend to be more of a black genmaicha than anything else. Definitely got some maple flavor and some sweetness (maybe caramel?) but the popped rice flavor dominated the sip. Not a bad tea at all, but not quite what we expected based on the name.
Flavors: Maple Syrup, Toasted Rice

I had a cup of this before bed last night and I did sleep quite well, so props to the medicinal aspect! The flavor, however, was nothing to write home about. It reminded me of a something from Yogi or Traditional Medicinals…more focused on health benefits than flavor. Rather than the strong lemon flavor I was hoping for, I got muted lemongrass alongside other herbaceous flavors I couldn’t quite identify (probably the valerian and vervain?) and a strong blast of licorice root. Not something I’d drink again, but I’m sure it’s someone’s cup of tea!
Flavors: Herbaceous, Lemongrass, Licorice Root

I wish I could have played around with this one a bit more. There was only enough for a single cup and the flavor I got was watery chocolate with a hint of ginger. But the dry leaf smelled so nice! I’d love to see if using more leaf or turning it into a latte would bring out more flavor.
Flavors: Chocolate, Ginger

There was a single sachet of this tea in the box, which I took along to my dad’s house to brew on Christmas day. While not quite up to the standard of my all-time favorite Gingerbread Rooibos from Market Spice, this was quite a respectable gingerbread blend! Not too heavy on the ginger and with a nice sweet, buttery cookie note. And the black tea base was welcome after staying up way too late on Christmas Eve!
Flavors: Butter, Cookie, Ginger, Gingerbread, Sweet
