I discovered shortly after exploring oolongs that I’m not a fan. I just don’t get them, which seems like a loss when reading the enjoyment other people find in them. Not one for learning lessons the first time, I’m back years later for another cup of this tea… while listening to Propagandi. It seemed like a good morning for angry political skate punk music.
This tea smells fantastic dry and steeped. There is a light sweetness on top of some creamy notes. It is like tea candy in scent. I can taste those things on the sip. Creamy sweetness at the front of the sip, but it goes a little flat and cardboard like (which is the dominating trait I get from oolongs) towards the end. If I sip a little faster the flatness is skipped. Maybe that is the way to go? Chug it? The aftertaste is the same as the sip with the nice light flavors lingering. This is pretty good in my experiences with oolongs. Could this be my gateway oolong?!
