32 Tasting Notes
Oooo….. OOOO!!!!!
I decided to treat myself today to a cup of this, since it’s my birthday and all. And I deserve it, because it seems that maybe DH has forgotten too.
Wow…. WOW! I LOVE IT!!! OMG….
It has a lovely sweetness to it! And I can taste the jasmine! Fills up my mouth! Oooo so good…. soo, so goooood. Heavenly! Aaaah, no bitter aftertaste either, nor any astringency. Mmmmmmmmm, can’t rave enough about it! :O
Edit:
4th steep, and still pretty tasty! Wow…. initial sweetness is still faintly there, and tastes more like a light jasmine flavoured green tea. Loving it!
Preparation
Haven’t tasted this one yet, but had to note for myself that I kind of cheated and got this 50grams free. I know, it’s very expensive ($19.50) and I probably wouldn’t buy it for that price, ever.
Actually, I picked this up from their “50 grams free with $25 purchase” offer. So, I got an infuser with lid, and a couple of tea samples along with 50 grams of Choconut Oolong cause it’s soooo good. After the guy ringed my order up, he took my coupon and said I could have ANYTHING off the wall.
So, having done my research, I pointed at the Butterfly Jasmine.
Yes, he seemed hesitant a little bit, about giving that for free when I had gotten a 50 gram bag of Choconut Oolong, which is considerably cheaper. But, thankfully, he didn’t complain much and was happy to serve me regardless.
Made this as a ‘latte’. I put that in quotations because I don’t have a cream-frother machine… but I DID end up boiling a big pot of milk in the process of making my own yogurt (yes, I make my own yogurt! :) )
So, I scooped up the boiled foamy bubbly milk on the top and plopped into my mug, after adding my sugar.
Mmmmmm yummy. But I don’t taste chocolate in this still, unless I’ve put the sugar in then it gives it that sweet chocolatey flavour.
Preparation
Wow. Another yummy tea! I don’t know what I was expecting, but from reading the previous reviews on how this tastes like liquid Nutella, I can see that they were not kidding!
I didn’t even have to add anything into this, seeing as it’s oolong and I like plain oolong. I was thinking maybe because of the black tea, but it’s not necessary.
At first sip, it’s a little strange. Very earthy, woodsy, and NUTTY. Very nutty. Must be the hazelnut flavouring and cocoa beans! But the real kicker – is the aftertaste. I thought maybe this tea was going to stay nutty all the way but wait. NOooooo…. before taking the next sip, a flood of sweetness spread in my mouth, on my tongue and the roof of my mouth and inside my cheeks. Like I just took a bite out of a chocolate. MMMMmmmm!!!!
Okay, I’m sad I only got a sample size of this but really – I have a lit of teas I need to finish up! This one I might just go and buy more of!
Preparation
Interesting. Definitely has the “Gingerbread” flavour.
I added just a tiny bit of sugar (probably about 1/3 tsp) and it brightened the taste even more. Really, really tastes like gingerbread!
I really like it – has the cinnamon kick in there, and ginger as well. I don’t really taste the pineapple in there, but thats okay. The sugar made it more ‘cookie-ish’.
I used about 1 1/2 tsp for my 8 oz cup, instead of 1 1/4.
Glad I got a sample of this. Not sure if I want to get more of it, though.
Preparation
So I took a trip over to Davids Tea today, while running errands at my local mall, and decided to check out the new winter collection.
I picked up a bunch of tea samples (10 grams each of Coffee Cake, White Chocolate Frost, Alpine Punch, Gingerbread, Choconut Oolong and this one – Chocolate Chili Chai).
Once steeped for 5 minutes, I had to take a sip to taste it plain.
Nope.
Black tea just doesn’t do it for me plain. I need some sugar to bring out the flavour and a dash of milk too.
Much better!
I can feel a little bit of the chili heat in there, on my tongue a little, and it’s very smooth.
I like it. But I can only go with trying out different teas, and not commit to just one tea. That commitment is for straight-up green tea as my go-to.
Preparation
I took a trip to David’s Tea today because I wanted to get some stuff for the office. I started working again after a year and a half of Mat Leave (and extended Leave).
They had this tea, along with Mint Julep and Stormy Night, in the 2 for $5 bin (25 grams each). So, I picked this up, 1 of MJ and 2 of SN. I wished they had more in the bin, but sadly there was only 1 packet there.
Holy. Moly. WOW!
I LOVE it! I didn’t use too hot of water, but it came out perfect! Mellow, and smooth! Really smooth! I love it!
