Really enjoyable young sheng. Bright/sharp high notes with a sweet bite. Apricot fragrance, especially in empty chahai. Slightly dry on the mouth. Straightforward, energetic qi.

Drank this today. This tea is a flower bomb. Resembles a green oolong in many ways – could have fooled me. Bright, smooth, very sweet. Lingering taste is predominately floral and sweet, low on bite and bitterness. Empty pitcher / cup aroma abounds.

Flavors: Floral, Flowers, Orchid, Sweet

Autumn 2016 harvest. Revisiting this tea, and I remember why I ordered more. It isn’t pretty – twiggy and rough-rolled, but it redeems itself in the flavor and texture. Juicy and sweet, with that raisiny dried-fruit sweetness one more often encounters in red teas. A unique spice kick on the finish (past the first few steeps) makes this an interesting and fairly complex oolong.

2017 harvest. Strong florals – honeysuckle and jasmine. Sweet and light. Some nuttiness comes through on later steeps.

2017 Harvest. Really good stuff – the butter note is pronounced. Sweet, floral, the ideal amount of sweetness, and long-steeping.

This one falls a bit flat for me. Missing the roasted sweetness while also not offering much in the way of florals and green notes. Maybe this is old tea, as I don’t know when it was harvested. There are better Dong Dings out there.

I have some 2015 harvest, it’s holding up well. Very juicy as another reviewer noted. Sweet, with a different profile than Chinese oolongs, with a greener aroma. The astringency can be brutal if you aren’t careful, flash steeps work well, and I think it has calmed down some with age.

A nice, sweet white. You have to hit this tea hard – high temp and long steeps – unlike most whites. Nice thirst-quencher when you don’t want anything heavy or thick.

A solid, smooth ripe. Nothing wild, not as creamy or sweet as some pricier shou’s, but consistently balanced and relatively long-steeping.
