Classic Wu Yi mountain black tea varietal “Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong” means literally “from Wu Yi Mountain Small Tea Plant”.
Our offering is processed in a traditional style and has notes of dark chocolate taste and aroma with a sweet after-finish.
We recommend brewing with 90c temperature water. Wash once very briefly!
This is not a smoky “Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong” and should not be confused with the smoky type “Lapsang Souchong” which we also offer!

A fitting and delicious end to the alphabet challenge. This time it tastes a bit like a lighter keemun. Has that specific keemun flavor but maybe with a bit of fruit. Plum. Lychee. Lots of starch. But then also like a Ruby. This did seem much different than my last steeping session, which I doubt I did much different and it also wasn’t very long ago, so who knows? Tea is weird!! But I love that it’s always different. For the alphabet challenge 17/26 teas were actual sipdowns.

Chocolaty goodness. I think this might be my favorite of the Yunnan Sourcing teas I’ve tried so far. Of course I’m going to compare this to my best and beloved chocolate tea, Nepal Black from DT. I haven’t found one I like better, but this one’s very good.
