From Yunnan Sourcing

This lovely high mountain green tea from Wu Liang mountain of Simao is Certified Organic (JN Organic Certification)! “Zhen Mei” is a high grade of Yunnan Large Leaf varietal green tea that is picked when very young and tender. Due to the small leaf and bud size of this tea the aroma is extremely pleasant and penetrating. The taste balances light and fruity with a raw chestnut like taste. The after-taste and feeling is protracted and pleasant!

We recommend brewing with 85-90C water with short infusion times (10s, 15s, 20s, 30s).

Spring 2015 harvest!

Sipdown.

I’ve had this tea a few times, but never bothered to leave a note in the past. I’m feeling kind of “meh” about it.

That’s not incredibly descriptive, I know. Got a lot of projects going on at work and I’m in sort of a sludgy, procrastinate-y mood about it all.

I can’t believe I’ve had this tea for almost a year and didn’t leave a tasting note. What’s even stranger is how it’s tasting to me today. I don’t remember it tasting like this. It must have been a typical green before so I never left a note.

This morning I am getting spicy notes off of this green. It tastes like some of the notes I get from a young sheng. Strange huh? This tea must be the one used to make some of the Yunnan sheng’s . It’s got a slightly nutty, smoky taste with a bit of spicy note. How strange I never noticed that before about this tea.
