From Whittard of Chelsea

Afternoon Tea is a Whittard classic and one of the Company’s original blends. It is the tea to drink for that quintessentially English ritual, afternoon tea.

To make this Afternoon Tea, a delightfully aromatic black leaf tea from China is blended with a traditional jasmine green tea. Bergamot flavour is then added to give it its gentle perfumed flavour. Gold winner of The Great Taste Awards in 2012, the judges described it as having “Good quality leaves delivering rich, warm eucalyptus notes.”

Whittard’s Afternoon Tea is just what it says – the perfect tea for the afternoon. Serve it with dainty sandwiches and cakes to recreate that great British tradition, or simply on its own or with biscuits to enjoy along with a chat with friends. It is great drunk without milk, although you can brew a little stronger and add milk if you wish.

My first tasting note! I chose this, because I have been drinking it every day for a month! I actually have the round tea bags. I love the earl grey-like flavor. I have just been dropping one in a cup of water to take to work, let cold brew, and drink with lunch. I nearly always add honey to my hot tea, and sometimes to cold—but this is great without any additional sweetener, which I love to get away with if I can. I bought several more variateas from Whittards and I think they are all pretty great.

How i got it: Bought it

Experience: My first loose leaf black tea (though it really is a mix of black and green), and one of my options for evenings. By far the most aromatic i own, its distinctive jasmine touch dominates both smell and flavor. Light, clear and almost sweet taste. Quite good.

Would i buy it again?: Maybe yes… i guess i would miss it if i don’t have it as an alternative to my green tea some evenings hehe
