From White2Tea

Made from 2020 early spring Menghai area material that is not quite old arbor. This material is usually made into raw Puer, but this spring we commissioned productions of both sun dried white and sun dried black tea. The 2020 Mall Ninja Dojo and 2020 Horse Girl Clique are two teas made from identical material, but processed in two different ways.

The 2020 Mall Ninja Dojo is bright and aromatic with heavy full bodied character and even some residual astringency that signifies the character of the strength Menghai material. Floral and honey-like in its flavors and aromas, it’s quite a unique white tea experience.

Pressed in 2020, Each cake is 200g. A tong is a stack of five cakes

Gongfu!

Had a chance to try this tea in the evening earlier this week (on Canada Day actually) over a virtual tea session with Marco from Steapd Tea. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been drinking so many peach teas lately, but I definitely found earlier infusions had a nice stonefruit taste at the top of the sip leading into the body, with a very round finishing note like heavy cream! Some expected thick hay and honeysuckle type notes in the body throughout. A little thin, in terms of mouthfeel, but pretty good longevity for the session. I’m excited to see what happens with this white tea as it changes over time!!

Thanks for the great conversation yesterday, Marco – it was cool getting to know you a little better.

I’m in freakin love with the name of this tea, but wish there had been a more inspired artwork on the wrap!
