Grandpa Style Sipdown (1955)!
Every time I look at this tea I can’t get over how beautiful the buds are – so silvery and downy. It’s an incredibly smooth and creamy white tea with a lot of natural sweetness to it, sometimes even reminding me of the taste of perfectly ripe green melon! That was especially evident in this particular infusion, which also had notes of sugar cane, candied aloe, and florals in the finish.
I would be more upset about this sipdown, except I have an untouched cake of the same material that I’ve been waiting to crack into until I had finished off the minis.

This is probably such a silly question, What is Grandpa style?
Not silly at all! It’s the name of a type of tea preparation (also sometimes called Farmer’s Style) where you put your leaves directly in your mug without an infuser and consume the tea that way – usually with straight pu’erhs and some black/oolong/greens from China. As you drink the tea, you top the mug up continuously with fresh water throughout the day.
