time for a full review:

when i open the tin and smell the leaves, they smell like fresh smokey green tea leaves :)

when i steep them, the aroma produced is very pleasant.

when i drink the tea the taste is smooth and smokey :) i am putting pots up from 95

this is the best of the gunpowder green teas i have tried so far :D

the way i like the steep it best using a normal size strainer for single cups is this:

- 1 1/2 teaspoons for 4-6 single cup servings.
- steep for 15-20 seconds per serving
- hot to boiling is a good temp range

Really surprised by how much I liked this one. All of the previous green teas that I’ve tried were too vegetal for my tastes. So, I was expecting this one to also be this way. But it’s not like that at all. Very smooth flavor with a brownish-green liquor.

The liquor has a beautiful golden color, a bit yellower than the Formosa Tung-Ting Jade Oolong. Pleasant, soft taste.

It has a bit of a strong odor at first but this mellows as the tea cools, making the tea very gentle.

I’ve been looking for a cheap everyday green as I’m fairly poor right now :( and this is one of the cheapest gunpowders I’ve found while still being decent. Its aroma is smokey with hints of what reminds me very slightly of green rooibos or honey. It’s very buttery and delicious although slightly bitter, but that could probably be softened by a pinch of stevia if you want. I still have a few samples from Upton that I haven’t tried yet, but so far it looks like this will be one I buy in the future. :)
