The lychee, native to Hainan Island in southern China goes back as far as 2000BC; once a delicacy in the Chinese imperial court, it was in such demand that a special courier of horses would deliver it to the emperor. We’ve taken the flavour of this sweet, pink and white fruit and blended it together with the tropical taste of mango and our delicate, golden green tea. Take a sip and let it transport you to your own imperial court.

I found a sample tea bag of this tea, so I tried it, and I must say it was a very nice surprise : a fruited green tea, from one of the big companies, to begin with, in teabag even…a lot of mango in nose, and the sweetness of litchi in finish, but all smelling and tasting very natural. I´m not much of a green tea expert, but I even think the green tea base is really good.
Flavors: Green, Lychee, Mango
This is a decent blend for what it is. The green base is pretty meh, but there’s a strong note of sweet, syrupy lychee to make up for it. It’s got nothing on the greats of the lychee world, like Butiki’s magnificent and much mourned Lychee Oolong. It’s not a particularly complex blend, or an outstanding one, and I don’t think it’ll be a restock. Still, not bad for less than £2 on special.

Good pineapple flavour. Interesting mouthfeel that I would describe as “slippery”. Good balance of flavour. Lychee note present. Flavour is a bit dilute.

I keep on drinking this and not really paying attention. Bah! Had it yesterday and remember it being pleasant and sweet, almost too sweet. I do really love these though; green tea that I can’t seem to mess up and get all bitter and icky.
