Had this quite a few times already and have decided that this needs more peppermint. While it’s nice to drink a chocolate mint tea with a true chocolate flavour, now we’re presented with a weakened peppermint problem. Makes me want to go out and buy peppermint leaves to add to this. I think that would really balance things out.

And now I’m drinking almond nog for the first time. Interesting! Not sure if I’d buy it again, though.

my darling swedish chef sent this one my way to try and i’m super glad she did. I have to say, i’m not one of those people who tends to drink cacao on it’s own. I much prefer it as an addition to teas to give them that roasty chocolatey taste. I’m drinking these samples on their own though as i want to get a better sense of how they’ll work with other teas. This one is hints of mint with a lot of cacao. I enjoy it, but i’m not sure i see the point of the mint lol. I’d likely just add cacao to a mint tea so that the mint was more present and i could control the mint level. Enjoyable, though..and a nice cup to end the evening. Time for bed with my headache not getting much better.

I have a wicked headache tonight too. Not sure whether it’s dehydration or lack of tea (or something else entirely). Sigh. Hope you’re feeling better [in the morning]!

Fjellrev

Are you feeling better today, the both of you? What is with us getting headaches lately. Yeesh.

Yeah, I wish they put more mint in here. I swear HI’s was mintier? But I like the idea of just customizing mint teas by adding the plain cacao to it.

Kittenna

I was feeling better… until I had a headache today too! It’s gone now though. 95% sure mine are the two causes I previously mentioned, so they should be avoidable. My boyfriend and roommate have also had headaches lately, though. :(

Fjellrev

Aww, no. I had another one today too. They just keep coming. So weird!

Kittenna

Boo :( Weather was my guess that’s more applicable to people other than myself. None of us typically get headaches. (My boyfriend in particular, and he absolutely hates them).

Backlog:

OK, so, there are enough of us drinking teas with cacao shells in them that Cacao shells should be one of the ingredients when setting up a tea.

This is a very simple blend – just peppermint and cacao shells – but it’s awesome in it’s simplicity. I mean, we’ve got the best way to get chocolate flavor into a teacup (cacao shells) and mint. Chocolate and Mint. YUM.

The chocolate is a dark, bittersweet chocolate that’s more chocolate than bitter (just hints of bitter for contrast, if you don’t like it … you can add milk to soften that.) And the peppermint is – hold on to your teacups for this one! – minty. Yep. Like I said, simple but so sinfully yummy.
