I’ve been drinking this for days while we’re on the road. Not by choice mind you. This is the 8th day I’ve had a cough that feels like my throat is being ripped out. Went to the emergency room when we drove through Ottawa and sadly it’s just a virus that I have to ride out. So this abomination of a tea it is!

Please note that I tried to make a tea in the hotel, and it tasted like coffee water due to the water being boiled in a coffee machine of course.

Cherry on top? We’re going to Halifax tomorrow… and the guy who was going to sublet us his apartment had “something come up” so he needs his apartment back. So we’re homeless! Yay!

Not quite, we have 4 days (3 really) until April 1st to try to get a Halifax apt, meanwhile we can sleep on my boyfriend’s sister’s floor. So… it could be worse, right?

Had to come on Steepster and read tea reviews to calm myself down, so far so good. Thanks for being awesome, Steepsteriends.

Bonnie

Bonnie

How long u in China D’sara? Where exactly?

Mercuryhime

Being sick while traveling is the worst! I hope you (Daisy and Dinosara) get better quick so you can enjoy your travels better.

Kittenna

GAH! That’s awful! I hope you can find a place quickly. Luckily university is close to being out, so at the very least I’d expect short term subleases to be available soon?

Also, get better!!

Daisy Chubb

Thanks everyone!!
I’ll let you know as soon as I know x_x

Uniquity

There are 3 DTs in Halifax, if nothing else! There are lots of rentals kicking around, since this is a university city but I like to warn people to watch out for buildings with a lot of turnover – we’ve been stuck with bedbugs twice so far because of inconsiderate neighbours and it’s really turned me off “city living.” Best of luck – and maybe don’t go for a Killam property if you can help it. They have tonnes of buildings, but they don’t really care for their tenants.

Daisy Chubb

Thanks Uniquity – we heard the same advice from my boyfriend’s sister a few days ago. But good news – we have a place! It’s on.. the.. west.. I have no idea where it is. But the address is on Willett street, kind of near Bayers Lake area, and I looove it. No bedbugs (we were super careful as we could be able that, have had them before and they ruin everything _ ), and every Killam property we phoned – the person was super curt and not willing to help us with our situation at all. So we totally got lucky!!

Can’t wait to make a DT trip, but I guess we should buy some stuff first haha!

This tea is a great make me feel better tea.

When ever I have a cold I’ll make a pot, add REAL honey into it and enjoy. It always makes me feel better, maybe not physically but mentally. ;)

You do get a sick lemon flavour if you make it with sugar and by sick lemon I mean a lemon cough drop. Yuck

Another teabags received from Izzy (thanks!) and well, this was something I wasn’t really sure about. It evokes me Halls cough drops, which I like, but as flavour of the tea?

It is exactly that. Quite sour, very lemony. The honey isn’t there much present in taste, though a bit in a aroma. Interesting to find goldenrod in; never heard about that in tea. Still learning!

Anyway back to the tea. It’s okay. Not a something I would drink on daily basis, as it has got very acquired taste. It’ s very much similar to that cough drops I wrote earlier about. Now and then drinking seems okay for me though.

Tim Horton’s! How Canadian!

Martin Bednář

Yep, a glimpse of Canada in Central Europe :D I am not frequent FF chain customer, so I would probably miss it otherwise.
Shame I didn’t liked this one like the Apple Cinnamon.

Courtney

That’s very true. I used to drink the Apple Cinnamon at the very first university I went to many years ago — the science building had a wee Tim’s that we all frequented XD. The Honey Lemon I would only get when I was feeling under the weather. But, it has been many years now since I’ve had any Tim’s!

Martin Bednář

I am surprised that one get so bad rating. For me it was very tasty…
I wish having Tim’s nearby. Seems better than McD and KFC

Courtney

Perhaps one day you will have a Tim’s! Tim’s is certainly less expensive here, though I’ve never had a drink at KFC. I did, many years ago, have quite the fondness of McD’s coffee…

This tea is comforting, pleasant, and an overall safe flavor profile. I tend to enjoy it at night with a book, when I am feeling sick, or as an after-dinner treat to fight off the sweet tooth.

It tastes exactly as you would imagine–slightly tart, slightly sweet, light, and fruity. It is very smooth. In my personal opinion, this tea is best taken with a spoonful of honey and made into a big mug. I only have one box and it came to me from my mother. I was meant to take it last Christmas break and forgot it by mistake, only to receive it when I visited my mother a few months later. So glad it finally made it’s way into my collection!

This tea had way too strong of a lemon flavor. I didn’t think there could be such a thing as I adore lemons-maybe it was because it was an artificial lemon taste?

I have a soft spot for this tea. My Grandmother used to take me to Tim Horton’s and always asked me if I wanted a Honey Lemon Tea or a French Vanilla Cappuccino and a doughnut. So every time I drink this tea, I think about her and our trips to Tim Horton’s. Just for that reason alone, this tea is comforting for me. Even just the thought of it is comforting. It’s all about the memories but I do genuinely like this tea, even if there were no other attachments to it. Lemony, sweet and soothing. A nice herbal option for the evenings when I don’t want to overload on caffeine. My Grandmother passed away in 2011 but I still can’t drink this tea without thinking of her and the times we spent at Tim Horton’s together. I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

How wonderful to have such precious memories.

Jason

Thank-you Maddy. She was a wonderful person. I miss her very much but am grateful I got to have her for as long as I did.

Amie

What a lovely story!! I miss Timmies ( now living in the States) and have so many good Family memories there too. I don’t think I’ve ever tried their teas though. I’m pretty basic – a double double and a maple cream donut :) Been back for a visit since the the takeover/ changeover and it’s not the same sadly. Your grandmother sounds wonderful.

Jason

Amie, she was a beautiful person and she loved her family fiercely. Her children and grand children were everything to her. She died of lung/bone cancer and it was extremely difficult to lose her at only 73. I miss her terribly and think of her all the time. I hold my memories of her close to my heart.

My absolute first choice tea when I get sick. It’s sweet and soothing, and it doesn’t matter how long you leave that bag in for, it’s good. Trust me, your throat will thank-you for it. Also you can buy a box for about 4 bucks if you don’t want to keep running out to get it.

I seem to have come down with a nasty cold, which means teas that wouldn’t necessarily be my first pick (but at least I can get through anything I have with licorice). I found myself at school this afternoon and needed a throat soothing pick me up, so I went with this. Honey has never been my favourite, and lemon has to be done well so I didn’t have high expectations.

Overall this was okay (take that with a grain of salt; I can’t really taste anything right now). The lemon was very lemony. It tasted like the chicken breast my boyfriend basted in lemon juice the other day. Not strictly unpleasant, but perhaps a little intense and acidic. Didn’t really get the honey at all. Wouldn’t buy again unless it was the best option around for a sore throat.

This tea is sweet and soothing. When I worked at Tim’s I would have a cup whenever I was sick (aka most of the winter) and it made my throat feel nice. Or at least less awful. Maybe not the best lemon tea ever but it’s not bad!

This tea impresses me. The first time I had this, which was about a week and a half ago (I normally don’t go for the herbal teas) I was surprised by how sweet and citrusy the flavour was.
It lives up to the name honey lemon quite well, and goes down very easily. This hasn’t been a go-to tea for me before, but I think it might be when I want a caffeine-fee cuppa at Tims in the future.
