Dirty Girl Scout

It was awesome to see some Necessiteas blends that I haven’t tried in the TTB! This is a pretty even mix of mint and chocolate. It was all right hot, but I like it much better cold. Sweetened with milk, it’s almost like a mint hot chocolate. It doesn’t necessarily stand out from other mint chocolate teas, but it’s still good.

Another tea from vallhallow and Necessiteas. This one is pretty tasty too! It’s a nice creamy chocolate mint. I wish they had managed to capture some cookie flavor in there too, but to be fair they don’t actually claim to do so.

The mint is very smooth in this and works well with the chocolate!

Trying this again with half and half. It’s okay. I get mint and chocolate, but it isn’t as intense as I want. My mouth isn’t washed with the cool sensation of mint. I feel like the balance between the mint and chocolate is good, but they need to be turned up. I think I have two more servings of this. Maybe I’ll try it cold steeped. I remember really liking Teavana’s mint chocolate tea cold like that.

Another sample from VariaTEA – this one isn’t bad. Im’ a little sick of chocolate mint these days, so that probably explains why i don’t LOVE this…but it’s not a bad mint chocolate tea. There is a creaminess here that it pretty tasty as a whole. glad to try these out but i’m worried it may prompt an order heh

Thank you VariaTEA for sending this sample my way! I was actually really intrigued to see it too because I’ve actually heard of the shot it’s named after – and not only that but it’s a shot that I regularly stock all the ingredients to make because I enjoy it so much.

I made it today at work iced because I thought the cooling mint would be really nicely suited to iced prep, and I’ve really enjoyed the last few mint/chocolate teas I’ve made iced as well. Surprisingly, it wasn’t really all that good though. Both the mint and the chocolate were really weak/flat tasting and just overall really disappointing. This is a REALLY rich/sweet shot when done properly so that’s what I wanted out of the tea.

In a last ditch attempt to make this more enjoyable I poured in some soy milk to hopefully enhance the creaminess factor. I have absolutely NO idea what ingredient caused it to happen, but for whatever reason when I added in the soy it curdled. Nothing in this should result in curdled milk! It was so strange, and obviously ruined the rest of the drink. Sorry – but this one just isn’t for me. I’ll stick to the actual alcoholic shot, thank you very much.

Still in my cold foam kick and the best pairing is mint tea and white chocolate cold foam. Thanks Roswell Strange for the suggestion!

I’m running low on Candy Cane Crush but i have this tea which fits the profile. This is a touch too medicinal/strong so CCC is better but it still works really nicely.
