I would describe this as having a gentle sweet woody flavor. It tasted quite good.

I steeped 1 tsp of the red rooibos in 12 oz. of boiling water for about 15 minutes and it made a fairly strong cup of rooibos.

After I was finished I decided to try and steep another (8 oz.) cup with the same used rooibos. This time I started with the water at only 85 C (182 F) this second cup was not quite as strong but was still strong enough and it tasted even better.

Maybe next time I will try and start with only 1/2 a tsp and see how that works.

I did enjoy this but I liked the green rooibos even better.

Once again I’m trying to cut sugar out of my tea drinking experience. It’s really hard! Sugar is one of the toughest addictions to quit you know. Anyway, I drank this tonight without sugar and it’s better than how it tasted last time I tried it sugar-free. I must be getting better. I think rooibos tastes best when you let it steep for a really long time. It has a subtle sweetness to it.

Good luck with the sugar. It’s a tough thing to quit.

madametj

Well really I’m trying to remove the need for a sweetener all together
