I would describe this as having a gentle sweet woody flavor. It tasted quite good.
I steeped 1 tsp of the red rooibos in 12 oz. of boiling water for about 15 minutes and it made a fairly strong cup of rooibos.
After I was finished I decided to try and steep another (8 oz.) cup with the same used rooibos. This time I started with the water at only 85 C (182 F) this second cup was not quite as strong but was still strong enough and it tasted even better.
Maybe next time I will try and start with only 1/2 a tsp and see how that works.
I did enjoy this but I liked the green rooibos even better.
Flavors: Sweet, Wood
Preparation
When I smell the bag of loose tea it smells grassy and also reminds me a bit of green (camellia sinensis) tea. Like the name suggests the dry rooibos is quite green but when it is steeped the tea brews up to be a rose/yellow color. Looking at the used leaves after steeping the tea they still look green.
I used only 1 tsp of the dry rooibos for 12 oz cup of tea and I steeped it for 11 minutes in near boiling water and it turned out to be a good (medium) strength cup of tea.
It tastes a lot like green camellia sinensis tea, in fact the taste is much closer to green camellia sinensis tea than to red rooibos tea.
This is the first green rooibos I have tasted and I really liked it so I plan to make this regularly.
Preparation
Today has been AWFUL. Rude people, drama with coworkers, phone is ringing off the hook. At least this tea is delicious. A calming, chocolatey, minty-fresh, delicious oasis from the insanity. Prepared and consumed in my “Don’t Tell Me to Keep Calm” mug.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Creamy, Mint
Oooooooooo damn, this is one delicious tea!
The chocolate is so rich, and then the mint is like a light gauzy shawl wrapped around it. The rooibos is very fine quality and not too aggressive.
The longer it steeps, the better it is! It has a decadent, creamy mouthfeel.
So, so so so so gooooooood…. I am gonna be so sad when this cup is gone. I will definitely make a second.

Preparation
Once again I’m trying to cut sugar out of my tea drinking experience. It’s really hard! Sugar is one of the toughest addictions to quit you know. Anyway, I drank this tonight without sugar and it’s better than how it tasted last time I tried it sugar-free. I must be getting better. I think rooibos tastes best when you let it steep for a really long time. It has a subtle sweetness to it.
