The Blend isn’t bad but way too much sugar for my taste. Fortunately it was a free sample that came with my order, at least my daughter will like it!

I can’t quite decide how I feel about this. I wasn’t really impressed to see that the tea was more fruit and spices than tea leaves. Brewing, it smelled incredibly spicy, almost overwhelmingly so. But to taste, it was really sweet. Sweeter than any other chai I’ve tried, and fruitier, too. I give it credit for having good depth of flavour, and it was quite strong for a fairly short steeping. I found the cinnamon a bit overwhelming, though.

I got this as a sample from my recent Teavana order. I have no idea why they asked for me to dump the whole 1oz bag into my teamaker. It was just way way too strong. Too sweet – I usually add about a teaspoon or less rock sugar in my cup. How much was actually in there? It’s just overload of everything. I tried to enjoy it but I thought it was just ok.

I have finally moved on to loose leaf tea. I received this tea as a gift and steeped it in my new ForLife Curve teapot.

My first impression right from the package was that it smelled amazing. I mostly smelled the cinnamon but could pick up a bit of nutmeg since I read the ingredients and knew it would be in there. There does appear to be quite a but of sugar in it, but it’s hard for me to tell exactly what is sugar and what are bits of fruit.

Upon taking my first sip I fell in love. I didn’t add any milk or honey, which I customarily do with bagged teas, because I wanted to taste it alone first. It’s a good thing that I like my tea sweet, there is more than enough sugar in this tea! This makes a wonderful dessert tea for me!

Very good tea, although very sweet (curse you, overly-sweetened trial packets sent by Teavana!). I would certainly suggest giving this tea a try if you like chai teas in general, but go easy on the sweetener!

This tea is very iffy for me. If I get all my preffered measurements right, then the tea tastes wonderful. Otherwise, if I steep it for 20 seconds too much or put a tiny bit too much leaf, then it’s not to my liking, but that’s probably just because i’m used to lighter teas like green teas. Overall it’s a very nice tea for when it’s cold out and you’re craving something a little heavier.

PS: After drinking this tea a few more times I’ve found that its absolutely wonderful with a dash of milk and some of the german rock sugar that Teavana sells. I usually don’t put any sugar let alone milk in my tea, but as this is a chai tea it worked out really well.
