Definitely not “delicate,” as it is described – way too fruity – the intense cherry/cranberry obliterates any of the delicious subtlety of the white tea base. It smelled so strongly that it reminded me of cherry cough syrup.

Ok. So the guy at Teavana was VERY convincing with his wafting of tea aromas. I loved the smell, so I bought a small amount. I made it twice on my own, varying from a lift pink to a purple brown, following the directions on the can exactly. The taste was not worth the price.

So, to prevent my tea from wasting away, I bought a prepared cup of Snow Geisha from the store. It was a dark, burgandy!! The taste was very tart but I dont know how to get mine like that! Any help??

I get that deep, deep burgundy color when I first rinse my tea leaves. By the time I drain my first rinse and brew the tea, the color goes to a light pink, and by the second brew the color goes to a faint brownish pink or lilac. My guess is that to get that color you’d need to use more tea than normal (several heaping teaspoons) and only use the tea from the first brew.

I admit ever since I went David’s a few years back I haven’t really gone back to Teavana but considering my border-line obsession with cherry blossoms I just had to go. While picking up my Sakura Allure box set (which was the reason I went) this was second on my list of must try teas. For someone who likes cherry and rose teas…I have to admit the scent is powerful.

Once you get past that and the wonder of where they got the idea that this was delicate, it’s not that bad. It’s actually quite good. I was sipping it most of this afternoon while serving tea at the lodge. In comparison to “Cherry Blossom” by David’s it is not the most natural of flavors but I expect that when going into buying blends from Teavana.

So…drinker beware it’s going to be quite the experience. Sip slow and it should have less of a medicinal kickback. Hopefully. (Yes, I am doing my best to convince myself about that. Haha.)

okay, so i’m friends with the staff at one of the teavanas in my area. one of my friends actually suggested this one to me and was surprised that i didn’t like the smell. the dry leaf smells VERY much like a cheap red sucker. i thought i’d give it a shot since my friend then told me it’s nowhere near that sweet tasting. to my surprise, i really like it. i don’t find it nearly as cloying or artificial tasting as others do. i only put the tiniest amount of sugar, maybe half a teaspoon, and it’s perfect. delicate but still cherry flavoured.

not sure what the difference is between what i did and what others did, but i liked it.

yuck, this is my friends favorite tea, but all I could taste is the flavor of cherry cough drops. Couln’t finish this cup of tea.

So I have steeped this for 2 mins at 175F ( as per the Teavana tin), and 1 min ( as per this page). The main difference was less of a bitter aftertaste at 1 min than at 2. Otherwise pretty similar.

Have steeped twice with no noticable decline in flavour (in my limited opinion).

It smelt very fragrant and floral but imo didn’t taste of a whole load of cherry – if anything very delicate and a little bland. I wonder if they have reformulated it since the original reviews? Not tasting any cherry coughdrop at all, perfectly drinkable, but a little boring for my newbie palate.

Have about a cup or two sloshing in my stomach at present and feeling pretty chilled, so it must be doing something right. Would I buy this again? Probably not, that said I have about a pound of he stuff in a tin and I’m not kicking myself for buying it, so that’s a qualified victory, yes?

I agree that this tea is very bitter and can taste like medicine. I’ve found that you have to brew it for 2 mins top the first time, and you can rebrew it after that several more times without that strong, bitter taste.

My favorite thing to do with this tea is use it as a mix in for the last minute that i’m brewing another tea (usually something herbal). it adds a bit of flavour without that harsh taste of medicine since you only leave it in at the last minute

Having had a few really lovely white teas lately, I can tell you: this is white tea beaten into submission by artificial flavor. It is white tea only in that it is tea and it is not black or green; the tea base doesn’t have its own personality at all. That having been said, for something artificially flavored, this isn’t bad. I don’t agree that it tastes like cough drops or codeine syrup. The smell in the bag and in the cup is of a pleasant artificial cherry flavor. I overbrewed and had to throw the first cup out (the old bitterness problem—my fault for not setting the timer correctly), but the second cup is still very cherry-flavored , flowery, and rather pleasant with some rock sugar. The color of both brews was a nice medium golden yellow/brown, only a bit less bright in the second cup. I am not tasting the sourness others did—maybe it was hiding behind the bitterness of the first cup so I missed it, then went away by the second? Or maybe there just didn’t happen to be any sour cherry in the spoonfuls of tea I used!

I’m not saying I’m a HUGE fan (and it is admittedly overpriced, but when I walk into Teavana I’m not bargain-hunting). Just that this is drinkable and pleasant, and pushes my “fruity” button. I would really like to try this iced—that’s the next plan.

I had high hopes for this tea. The aromas were great but i cant say the same for the tea itself. I anxiously waited for this tea to steep but when i tasted it, i was incredibly disappointed. The taste was bitter unlike the smell. When steeped the orange peels overpower all flavors. Overall bad tea.

I probably rated this tea lower than I would have if it had been less expensive or come from a tea shop that I dislike less than Teavana.
I don’t really know what possessed me to buy this, other that I’d been in the shop for a while and, and perhaps my olfactory receptors were burnt out. Anyway, I was in the Mall of America, so I probably don’t have very good judgement anyway. At any rate, I bought some, resisting the aggressive sales pitch to buy overpriced tea tins.
The tea is pretty, but it smells and tastes exactly like Luden’s cough drops. I love Luden’s cough drops, but not in tea. The artificial “cherry” flavor completely overwhelms any taste or scent of tea. This tea might be nice with a lot of honey if you have a cold. Otherwise I’d recommend avoiding it entirely.
