Sighs Been so long since I’ve done a tasting note that I wanted a really stellar tea to review.
This ain’t it.
Granted, there are many factors that could be standing in my way, such as being exhausted from snow shoveling all day to not preparing this tea correctly. (The bag said 2 min steep, the description on this site said 1 min. steep.)
At any rate, I have to agree with the assessments of the majority in that this tastes like candy or cough syrup, (Though thankfully not the heaviness of cough syrup.)In principle I am not against artificial flavors in tea, though with cherry…ehh. My favorite artificial cherry flavor is Luden’s throat drops, which this tea tastes alittle bit like…but I don’t like the taste in tea.
Probably doesn’t help that I am not a huge fan of cherries in general, (I do eat them when they are in season and I like many recipes that use cherries, like chicken salad.) But they are not my favorite fruit.
Anywho….I will try and remember to review this again and try for a 1 min steep time. Maybe that will improve it. If nothing else I can either save it for iced tea season or give it to my Dad, who is the cherry nut in the family. LOL.
You can always post your tea here:

I hate when that happens (tea fatigue)…
Have you tried using less leaf or decreasing the temperature? That sometimes helps me make bitter teas more bearable :)
Cofftea, thanks for the heads up! I don’t have enough of Snow Geisha left to do that, but I’ll keep that in mind for future buys that I dislike.
Shanti, I’ve tried decreasing the temperature, next time I’ll try to use less leaves too. Thanks for the tip!
Kathryn, there is no minimum requirement.
