Well, after my terrible experience earlier today, I needed something to replace the terrible taste in my mouth!! and this seemed to do the trick.
It’s nice, I did quite enjoy the brew, however there was nothing particularly memorable about the flavour. A little lemon, a little fruit, maybe a teeny bit of floral something-or-other… but not enough to “wow” me. Then again, this IS a calming tea, it’s not supposed to get me excited!

VariaTEA

I just discovered Carrot Cake Rooibos by Della Terra (thanks to a sample I got in a tea swap with Dexter3657) and it is amazing!! Also, as you already know, I LOVE Jessie’s tea from DAVID’s. If you are getting more into rooibos, you should definitely give those two a try.

As much as I wish I was a mellow type, I inherited my father’s curse of getting incredibly anxious over even the tiniest and silliest things. Part of the reason, I suspect, that I love tea so much is for its calming properties. This one is a gem for me, maybe even a necessity. Just smelling it will immediately slow down my breathing rate by half. Maybe it’s the placebo effect, maybe I don’t care. It works. Doesn’t taste like much, but that’s not what I’m paying it for.

I actually disagree that it doesn’t taste like much…it has a wonderful smell and a subtle flavor that reminds me of something that I can’t quite place…I really enjoy this. I am testing its claim to help with migraines (I haven’t had one since I bought it this week, so I can’t say its effects with migraines yet) but there is a noticeable difference in my daily headaches. It’s nice both plain and with a few drops of agave nectar. Very impressed, I’ll raise the ratings if it actually does help prevent my migraines!

One of Teaopia’s “Wellness” teas, Calming is quite pleasant. The dominant taste is lemongrass, which is soothing enough on its own, but the fruit and floral ingredients give it a softer, more variable flavour. For some reason there’s a bit of nuttiness about the aroma, but no justification for this in the ingredients – so it must just be some kind of coincidental combination that reminds me a little of coconut. The greatest test would have been to try it when I was having an anxiety attack and see if it calms me down. Difficult to say whether it’s actively calming, but I’ll try it the next time I have a vicious headache and see if it has an effect. All in all a restful tea with a subdued flavour.

A cup of this tea is a great way to wind down after a long stressful day. It gives you a strange body high that seems to slow things down. It tastes pretty good, for a herbal tea, and the flavor can easily be changed and sweetened with a touch of agave nectar.
