TTB tea. This is my first time trying Stash’s loose leaf collection. I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying this! The cherry and almond combine so smoothly. The black tea base doesn’t show up too much. It actually ends up being quite a light tasting tea, almost as if it didn’t have that black base at all. My partner found the cherry flavor to be too fake, but I didn’t mind.

This one and Southern Peach were really nice to have on hand.

I was gifted 2 packages of this tea from a neighbor. I had two cups this morning while working on the grocery list. The scent of the tea leaves was lovely, reminded me of a cherry almond pastry I have had in the past. Cherry flavoring is not one I generally reach for due to my association with all the artificial cherry flavored medicines of my childhood. I do enjoy fresh and dried cherries though. This was my first cherry tea

Steeped as recommended on the package and it was a nice dark red color. During tasting there was a hint of cherry flavor with a stronger almond flavor. It did not carry over well in a second steep, but I anticipated that.

I did notice after that the best by date was for 12/2020; so I would assume that a fresher package would have different tasting notes. I would be open to trying again.

ashmanra sent me a sample of the Stash version of cherry almond to compare with the Market Spice equivalent. Both are nice, but I think quite different (didn’t do a side-by-side). Stash leads with the almond; I think the Market Spice leads more with the cherry. Either would be nice, I think, chilled on a warmish afternoon. (We haven’t had many of those of late!)

Mastress Alita’s September Sipdown Challenge – An Aromatic Tea

I hope a flavored tea counts for the aromatic prompt, rather than just teas that are naturally aromatic. As stated before, this tea leads with the almond and thankfully the cherry flavor is not at all “cough syrup cherry”. This is strong enough that the scent lingers in your teaware but it behaves itself and dissipates with washing up.

I enjoy this both hot sans additions and as a sweet iced tea. The next pitcher of iced will make a sipdown, but I will probably repurchase someday when the cupboard is under better control..
