I infused a little less than my normal amount of this because it looks like I can get one more cup after this…didn’t want to run out quite yet, ya know!? Even with the amount of loose leaf different it’s still wonderful. I always drink my tea plain but I wonder what this would taste like with Almond Milk…since it is quite almondy…I love me some ALmond Milk on cereal…hum…might have to try just because…

Samantha

Almond milk makes cereal taste more cold!!! Love it.

Smoochety

Hmm.. almond milk might work well in vanilla dian hong.. yes, yes.. must try!

harukaJU

I have never tried an almond tea but find the idea enticing. Would you recommend this one in particular?

TeaEqualsBliss

@ HarukaJU – I would…but it’s also more dessert-esque…not sure which Almond-like one you would like to start with…a dessert, black flavored, oolong maybe!? LOTS of choices!!!!

Steep Information:
Amount: 3 tsp
Additives: none
Water: 1 full cast iron teapot of filtered boiling
Steep Time: a little over 4 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: sweet and nutty (almond biscotti or cookie to AmazonV)
Steeped Tea Smell: almond cookie, or almond sweet breakfast cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds)
Flavor: not sweet almond black tea
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: astringent and bitter briefly (MilitiaJim says it doesn’t do that when hot)
Liquor: cloudy translucent reddish brown

Steepster Traveling Teabox Tea, grabbed because MilitiaJim loves almonds

MilitiaJim: It tasted more almondy than it smelled which is a good thing.

AmazonV: The smell was so sweet, I think the tea needs sweetening to match the scent. I also think a splash of almond milk would do it well. This was a great tea.

OMG this is near me, I can go there!!!!

Post-Steep Additives: none

Resteep: 8+ minutes, fail, watery almond water

Wow… I can’t believe it went from tasting good to watery by the 2nd steep even though you increased the steeping time by 4 min.

JacquelineM

It’s a wonderful shop!!! And I agree – I think it tastes just like Honey Bunches of Oats!! They don’t really do pots of tea there, but if you ever want to get a pot of tea at Tbar let me know :) It’s great that we are both in the same area!

AmazonV

@Cofftea I was surprised too because it smelled so much like almonds when i sniffed

AmazonV

@JacquelineM I love Tbar! i don’t go much unfortunately because i work too much :(
