I guess I’m craving lemon today. I had a mug of lemon ginger tea, then grabbed this from my box of samples. It tastes like a pretty straightforward chamomile/lemon myrtle blend. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll probably like this. I’m pretty ambivalent towards the lemony herbs so I think I would have preferred straight chamomile, or chamomile with lemon zest.

Very pleasant and enjoyable cup. The chamomile and lemon grass notes were lovely, the lemon they mention is not sour/acidic, so it is a smooth and palatable drink.

A funny thing happened tonight while I was preparing a large Bodum of Numi Chamomile Lemon looseleaf infusion. I opened up the clamp jar, and to my surprise saw a tiny beetle crawling around inside! At first I panicked, thinking that maybe I should throw it all out. But then I did not see any other beetles, and I remembered that Numi teas are all organic. Maybe that’s the price you pay?

Then I started to think about filter bags, and it occurred to me that filterbags may all contain ground up bugs in them, especially since they are made with picked over floor sweepings—or so it seems. What do you think?

Anyway, the infusion was good, and I’m not going to throw the rest of my huge bag away! I haven’t looked inside, though. Let’s hope that there was only that one tiny beetle in the whole batch…

mj

I think you may be right about the filter bags and now I’m incredibly grossed out :-(

sherapop

I am sorry, mj! I never thought about the prospect before, but now it seems obvious. I mean, think about hot dogs and spam and all other kinds of industrially “blended” stuff. Sorry!!!!!

TeaBrat

I’ve never noticed a bug in any of my teabags. so I don’t know! Just imagine there are bugs crawling all over the plants when they are being grown. :)

sherapop

Good point, TeaBrat! What’s so bad about bugs anyway? lol

Cheri

Just think of it as extra flavor and protein?

mj

Haha it’s ok sherapop. It’s not enough to keep me from drinking bagged tea on occasion. Looseleaf isn’t always practical and tea with “extras” is better than no tea at all! It isn’t half as gross as public restrooms.

Blodeuyn

At least it was alive and tiny. I think dead and huge would have been worse.

sherapop

You guys are hilarious! mj & Blodeuyn & Cheri!!! xxxooo

Got back a while ago from watching the symphony orchestra here perform my favourite Beethoven symphony. I’m proud of myself that I made it through the second movement without needing a tissue. :)

This tea is alright. I wouldn’t call it offensive, but I wouldn’t call it great either. The thought of lemon and chamomile together kind of sounded weird, but I figured it would be a favourable combination if you’re ever feeling under the weather. They’re quite balanced here, nearly 50/50. The sour lemon hits you first, and then the chamomile joins in. Would I buy it? Hell no. But it’s still fun trying these Numi teas.

Ooh! Which one?

Yeah, okay. I don’t really like chamomile tea (got this in a sampler pack), but If I did, I’m sure I’d like this one. The lemony flavour takes the edge off that weird, dusty, weedy characteristic that I always pick up from straight-up chamomile. I’d drink this tea if it was lying around, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy a whole box of it.

Pretty good. I prefer the darker teas for the stronger flavors, but when you have a cold, a nice cuppa Chamomile is tough to beat. The added citrusy flavor is also a bonus. Got to be sweetened with honey. I enjoyed it.

The tea was delightfully average! And for a camomile below.
I don’t know if it’s the fact that when it comes to camomile unlike it pure with vanilla and honey but this just didn’t really do it for me. Lemon teas have always been problematic because the sour and citrus flavors never translate that well. I personally love sour tastes so I love teas like tazo passion and tazo wild sweet orange because they have citric acid. Although not horrible I found this tea a little bland and will not be repurchasing.

I am not a chamomile connoisseur, but I do like this tea – I do however find all chamomile teas (from loose to bagged) to me about the same on the rating scale…
