From Mark T. Wendell

This tea is a unique find, deriving its name from the high altitude growing areas of the Wu Lu Mountains in the Jiangxi province of China. Grown in the gentle mountain clouds and prevalent mist, this tea consists of single bud and leaf sets that unfurl magnificently when brewed. The brewed liquor has a herbaceous aroma, a smooth and sweet taste and appears a modest yellow-green in the cup.

This tea brews to such a lovely, pale yellowish-green color. The aroma is vegetative, but the flavor is not quite as vegetative as I thought it would be. It does have a vegetable like taste to it (which is more like vegetable than grassy), and a hint of buttery sweetness to it too. This is an incredibly tasty cuppa!

I like this one!

I was rather surprised by this green tea. Most Chinese greens have a grassy, fruit-ish lean to them. This, however, had all of the flavor benefits of a Japanese sencha – almond-like, buttery, and lightly sweet. Definitely one for brewing on the subtle side, though.

When I want an earthy but light tea I go right for this. It’s not as floral or light as I like my greens but it gets the job done without being too understated. Eating some plain jasmine rice with this tea is an excellent, simple meal.

Decent green tea with delicate spring-picked characteristics. But kind of the bare minimum for falling into the category of premium spring green teas. A little sweet, a little nutty, and the barest hint of some florals. Nothing about it really seems to stand out too much for me, and on top of that it feels a little stale; like it is losing its essence. Maybe this was an older lot? I don’t know. The vendor does not give dates of production. You can definitely find better teas at a lesser price.

Does have a bit of a buttery quality to it, and lasts for two or three steeps western style.

After drinking this one quite a few times, I’ve noticed it is far more drying than most of my other teas. Which is honestly a little annoying sometimes. On the plus side, though, on the back end of this drying effect I notice a pleasant bouquet of florals which can be quite strong. Finnicky, though. The florals really come out sometimes and other times not so much. I’ll bump my score up another 5 points for this uniqueness.
